Yeah. Impact-loud is a lot worse than constant-loud, sitting inside a steel drum while someone beats on it.

….laundry list of items....
I'll never own a Tesla and it has nothing to do with electric cars.

It's the attitude I see coming from the company itself (and not just Musk). Basically, Tesla will be the Apple of the auto industry. None of the normal marketing and regulatory rules should apply to them and if you complain you "just don't get it".

It's similar to the recent announcements from Apple that while you can get your MacBook fixed anywhere, we've built in firmware so once you service certain components, your equipment will not work until you have Apple run a diagnostic on it to "ensure quality".

Sorry, I'll buy my EV somewhere else when I decide I want one.

SHIT! I think the technician loaded me in the WRONG way! As I was leaving, I glanced into the torture room where they were loading another patient - FEET first. They loaded me HEAD first -

jsimon7777, I've fired 12 gauge shotguns with turkey/goose loads and I've been around these puppies when they have gone off - guess which one was louder -

Now, that reminds me of a back-in-the-Army story.

It was a hot, humid day in July and we were being subjected to Ranger training at Fort Benning, GA. We were in the E&E (Escape and Evasion) phase. We were herded into a "prison camp" in the middle of a jungle.

We hadn't eaten in two days, so they threw us some live rabbits, a pack of matches and some firewood - but, I've already told that story.

Back to the drums. The rabbit guts were placed in a 8' deep hole and allowed to get gross. There was an empty 55 gal drum, with the end cut out, placed over the hole. Now, when a soldier attempted to escape the compound and was caught, they were placed in the hole with the warm, rotting rabbit guts and the drum placed on top of the hole.

The other detainees were to beat on the drum with that poor devil under it. If they didn't beat on it long or hard enough, THEY were the next to be put into the hole.

Now, I was never put in the hole, but I did see some of the detainees after they were drug out of the hole, they said it was very loud! -

I was so fucking exhausted that when I was given an escape opportunity I walked out, grabbed some firewood off of the pile, walked back in, dropped it, turned to my "good cop" interrogator and shot him an eyeroll as I sat back down.

I was the only one out of 52 that didn't actually get captured so I figured I had already proven myself enough.

Maybe they didn't have enough cadre on hand to take you down -

We never had such training. I guess they figured if we ever got captured we would just politely ask to leave.
The closest thing we had was the drinking training but have told that story before.

Is that how it used to be? They told me in basic training that if I ever escaped they would send me a strongly worded letter and lock me out of all gubmint jobs forever. I about pissed myself.

Yep, tired we were too. When they "allowed" us a chance to escape, they told us if we were recaptured, the interrogations would be more severe and last longer.

Most of the prisoners headed down the road thinking they could outrun the cadre. Wrong strategy - those suckers were selected because they could run fast.

So, me and three buddies headed deep into the Georgia swamp - at night. Nope the cadre didn't chase US. Yep, on a dark, rainy night, in a Georgia swamp with no navigation aids - we got really lost. After a few hours sitting still and listening, we heard the sounds of the deuce and a half trucks coming to pick us up. Headed for the sound of the trucks and loaded up.

THE END
