Noob how often do you check you oil

I checked mine after 1k and. It looked like normal yellowish color to me.

I got nervous after reading the forums of a dealer not putting in transmission fluid.

So do you check yours every week or do many miles?

I check under my car more often than I check the dip stick. Looking at the oil itself can be helpful when I've blown a gasket, but I honestly don't expect that, so I only look at the dipstick when I change the oil to confirm I've added enough.

Whenever i want to perv on my motor... In my 6 Litre it was often.... Probably even more so when i attach a snail to the 86.. But as b.e stated above its always good to check under the car.... Obviously if there is any leaks thats where u will find it.... Also before and after ever track day.....

You should check your oil level at every fill-up. Monitoring your oil level can help you catch developing problems if you suddenly see higher consumption levels.

I check mine twice a week until about 5000 miles, then once per week.

I don't check my oil very often to be honest. About once a month. If the car has been modified, I would definitely check it more due to the aftermarket parts potentially causing problems.

Huh. Checked mine and there wasn't a drop of oil in there. Apparently they filled it with unicorn blood instead? Anyone else run into this? Seems to run fine, in any case.
