Questions for AT owners about Sport mode

1. Do u leave it at Sport mode all the time?

2. Can we change the mode back and forth from Sport to regular while car is moving?

Yes, you can change it back and forth while driving it wont harm anything.

(I have a 15' AT)

1. No

2. Yes

The "sport" mode for the transmission itself is great if you want to do some performance driving. (It eats fuel for no good reason if you are not in any particular hurry though)

The "sport" mode for the stability/traction control system is useless on 13-16 models. The 17's call it "track" mode and it actually works well for performance driving, but I have never tested its ability to "bail you out" of a bad situation.

I have a ‘17 AT I’ve only used the Sport mode, never tried the Track mode yet. I assume it’s just Sport with traction turned off, am I correct?

I always just use manual mode, it's more fun shifting my self.

I have not experimented with the 17's. (Just did a few runs on an autocross course in one)

-But, on my 15', the sport button in the middle is just for the transmission. The nannies stay in full effect. The button to the right, (The 13-16 models also say "Sport" there but the 17's say "track") is supposed to dial back the nannies....no effect on the transmission as far as I know.

On the 17's, the right button ("track") works pretty well. The nannies generally stay out of your way unless you start getting out of hand. The 13-16 models are a different story. There, the right "sport" button is a joke. The nannies jump in to save you before you even start to push the car.

I don't know if the new track mode is better/faster programming that is just as likely to save you from a mistake as the old "sport" mode, or if it just comes with a higher risk of not being able to bail you out if you get in over your head.

I use the paddles 100% of the time and never use sport. I also take off TCS 100% of the time and it's so much fun to drive especially with my car now making 295-300whp/255wtq.

I use manual mode 100% of the time, which performs shifts the same as if it were in sport mode. Been driving like that for over 4 years now.

I have a '16 and never use the regular sport mode. The VSC Sport affects both nannies and the transmission on my car. It will hold gear and upshift later than normal. I like that a bit more since the nannies are really aggressive.

I switch between VSC sport and manual/traction off a lot depending on my mode. But I been driving like an old man a lot more lately too and just full nannies/auto.

Sport mode only takes effect if you drive it automatic/drive all the time as all it does is hold the shifts to a higher rpm. Once you use the paddles there is no difference. Contrary to belief it does not make the transmission shift harder.
