Makes me wonder if the turbo will sound even better... the boxer rasp in this FA20 definitely develops a pleasant tone with the hiss of the supercharger.

The drivetrain shouldn't be an issue. There are plenty of 600 hp S2000's running around on the same transmission, and the differential (8" or 203mm ring gear) will easily hold up to that kind of power as well.

i think that person was referring to hks' future sequential transmission development...

Drop the car 1 inch with some lowering springs and slightly stiffer anti-roll bars to compensate for the extra grip from wider sticky tires, and I've got a straight up awesome daily driver/autocross car/GT.

Now...about that warranty.....

Truthfully, if Scion offers a quality supercharger kit with warranty, that would immediately sway me to get the FR-S. The HKS kit is probably going to be great but without any kind of warranty....
Sorry but your ideas are great and all. But as far as a Autocross car goes. It would be pretty bad. Heavy modifications like a supercharger would put you in a noncompetitive class, and if you expect any kind of decent traction on 225 forget about it. Also just using lowering springs alone would make the car actually handle worse than stock.

I'm still hoping we get a comptech supercharger kit. I know they've only done honda's in the past, but they really make great kits and I think this is the perfect car for them to venture into new markets .

The more I think about it, the more I like this idea. I think this would fit the car and my goals perfectly.

I'm personally alright with that. I'm planning on getting a BR-Z as a graduation present to me, and from what I've heard doing a supercharger is a lot less work than an aftermarket turbo. All I gotta do is "slap it on" and get it tuned somewhere. Plus I have torque as soon as I want it.

I don't think it's worth another post, but mods may disagree.

Oh, and I have zero experience with this company so if they're shit, please don't shoot the messenger.

I always though they were related to or owned by Honda.

I made mention to this in another thread, but from the looks of the engine and subframe, it looks as though it will be far easier than adapting the engine for turbocharging. There just simply looks like theres not enough room to fit all the manifolds and intercooler ducting in the engine bay either. With the supercharger, all you would have to do is re-work the intake system and (assuming its a centrifugal-type) find a way to make it fit on the front of the engine to line up with the belts.

Stillen made an EXCELLENT supercharger kit for the 370z (forgot if it uses a VR or a VQ) and I would love to see them do the same for the FA20. And their air-to-water intercooler is very nice too.

I posted this in the other thread, but it was a pretty old thread, so here it is again..

I think the Rotrex kit would be perfect for the BRZ/86

Here is the dyno chart from the old setup on my MR2 Spyder (C30-94 Rotrex, a2w IC, Hydra EMS, forged internals, DIY head work, etc).. This is from a 1.8L 1zzfe that originally made around 125 rwhp. Boost was around 16-17psi, c/r was 9.0:1, gas was California 91-octane pump gas
