I appreciate Harrop following this through to the end. I didn't see anything official yet like an EO#, the EO document or any updates to CARB's database. I'd imagine that it may take some time before those updates come, before they supply a CARB tune and before they provide whatever EO sticker/plaque they intend to use. Do you happen to know if the CARB tune will be open for download or will it be a separate purchase, and do you know how they might accommodate sending out stickers/plaques to buyers with existing kits?

There is also a way of doing this with a boost controller or even easy pro's gauge controller which os specifically for that.

looks like im going to have to do more research on this

So I assume this CARB approval will have several individual tunes associated with it due to the several pulley options available.(?)

And also, you will HAVE TO have the stock catalytic converters in place along with the CARB-approved tune.(?)

Not likely. One tune for one pulley, or up to a certain psi like not exceeding 9psi or 11psi, whatever they tested at.

Stock header, mid pipe and front pipe.

Spoiler: The comments in this post may piss some people off. However, this is not intentional.

So everyone who has already installed their Harrop supercharger on their vehicles and made all of the additional modifications like un-catted headers, flex-fuel or straight E-85 tunes, smaller drive pulleys, etc. will have to revert back to pretty much stock in order for the CARB-approved tune to work as it is designed to on their cars and to be able to display the CARB sticker under their hood.

I'm sure glad that I've waited to install mine nor have made any additional modifications yet. I suppose once I get the CARB sticker, I can make any modifications I want and nobody will ever question it, at least not where I live.

So I guess we'll have to wait a bit until all of the information from Harrop USA starts trickling out.

Of course. The point is that it takes much less time to swap a few parts over for smog inspection than it is removing the whole supercharger.

You can also control boost via throttle mapping (don't allow throttle plate to open fully), which is what I do on my time attack harrop'd car. Better to just have the right pulley though.

Built some ducting for the harrop setup:

Harrop Supercharger installed this week!

I wanted to put out a big thank you to Neil at the Racers Line for getting a Harrop Supercharger shipped out to me in Georgia. I got to know Neil living in California and he is one of the best car guys I have ever worked with. He was very helpful in explaining why this kit was the right choice for my needs which is mostly daily driving with a few track days a year.

The shop that I had do the install is Atlanta Speed Company in North Atlanta. Kevin and his crew were great to work with and the tune was done on the dyno by Zack. It is exactly what I was looking for which is smooth power delivery that is very linear.

I had done EL JDL headers in California and Corsa Exhaust which sounds even more amazing now. I wanted to conservative tune that again would make the car feel like it just had a bigger motor in it. The final numbers that we got with headers, exhaust, on 93 octane where Max Torque 192.64 and Max Horsepower 246.23
A couple of other things that I like is that the supercharger is very quite. I am not a teenager and I wanted to have the ultimate sleeper and mission accomplished. This thing is quick.

Gotta love that flat torque curve. Was there a baseline? Numbers seem a bit low with headers.

The base line in this case is the Harrop carb tune verse Zacks custom via remote dyno tuning which had the results I asked for.

Unfortunately they did not dyno the car before. One of the reasons torque is a little lower is that I have equal length headers and I also was looking for a very smooth power delivery instead of max power. Lastly I want the car to last as long as possible so I like to tune on the conservative side when tuning. Way less problems in the long run. I will have the car at Road Atlanta next weekend for 2 days so I will have a good track report next week.

More "CARB legal" postings. Has anyone seen any EO#s yet?

Thats some ducting, what did you make it out of and do you have any data on the effects it had?
