We gave away or sold over 200 pieces and still my brothers, brother-in-law and myself received over 400 pieces each.
My father had everything from match locks, flits, percussion cap, black and smokeless powder long and hand guns to a few modern hunting and military pieces. He had a large number of edged weapons from poisoned arrows (long story) knives, swords, a suit of armour and even a Maasai lion hunting spear.
When the fiberal (lying liberal) government started their anti gun push in the 1990's I sold all but a few pieces of my collection. I kept my mother's Winchester model 697, my father's .22 target, the spear and a powder horn my wife liked.
Oh by the way humfrz... I love your diamond ring!

WOW! Sounds like your father had quite a collection -

I also wondered about that diamond ring - but, I just scraped that picture off the internet -

I enjoy looking at this thread. Have felt inadequate as my CC is a AMT 380 stainless backup that i have carried for the last 30yrs.
I too inherited my fathers collection (an army colonel) that he had built his whole life.
I have that rifle but in a sharpshooters configuration, different sights and the cleaning rod is also a bayonet.
No diamond ring

EDIT
My new favorite is a PCP pellet gun, first got a 22 then a 25. It is a hoot to shoot. I can either shoot sonic or sub sonic. it can be so quiet that you can hear the hammer fall. In Fl. i use it to get Iguanas.

My CC is a Beretta Pico .380 and I don't mind it as it's a gut-gun. I don't care to blast someone to the past, just break contact and call authorities.

I'll have something new coming in later this week... no FFL required, just released within the past few months, and from an iconic American brand (but made in Turkey)...

And on another note, to anyone with a .380 Auto pistol, if not already using Lehigh Defense Extreme Penetrator ammo you should try it out... will give you 9mm level penetration and stopping power.

I would be very worried about little to no expansion and possibly over penetration. After listening to a few Paul Harrell discussions about "hyper" ammunition, I'd rather stick to things that are less likely to add scrutiny in the eyes of the courts. For that I stick with Federal HST or Sig V-Crown. For my .45 I used Winchester white box personal protection ammo. But to each their own.

Just putting it out there since .380ACP round is about the bare minimum recommended for defensive use. I would much rather a solid round that stays consistently more barrier resistant than a deformable one with performance that is more dependant on what it's traveling through, which is going to always be an unknown. From the various testing videos I've seen of this particular Lehigh bullet design in .380 ACP versus everything else I'm satisfied enough to go with it over hollow points for my G42, but it is my own personal choice (which was decided about 5 years ago and I'm still fine with - haven't seen anything so far that would make me not want to use it.)

Fair enough. I'm not too keen on ballistics because I'd hope if it ever comes to drawing my CC, it's at point blank. But my lifestyle, nor body type, allows for concealment of anything much bigger than a pocket .380. If I had it in an ideal world, I'd carry a P30SK. But unless it's winter, I can't really hide it.

Ordered my first long gun. Hopefully will have it in my hands in 3-4weeks. Just something to play with at a range

lol. It's nothing special. Ruger American in 6.5 Creedmoor. Was gonna get .223 but don't feel like fighting AR owners for ammo.

Anyone got a suggestion for scopes under $300? Probably maxing out in the 1000 yard range but living at 600-800 or under the majority of the time. I was looking this Vortex right now https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/vort...hp-rifle-scope

Well now, that rifle should reach right out there.

Sounds like the 6.5 Creedmore is the upcoming round.

Have fun!

Vortex does makes some good, not too expensive scopes. I actually have a Diamondback Tactical 4-16x44 (FFP) on my Savage 10FP .308 Win that I like (was able to pick it up for a great deal at under $300 shipped from a sale and discounts almost 2 years ago.) The reticle is EXTREMELY thinly lined though and I really have to have it at 12x or higher magnification to see it well with my 44 YO nearsighted eyes.

Another good inexpensive but quality glass scope manufacturer I've heard about is Hawke, and I want to get a scope from them for the new rifle I have incoming. For the time being though I will use the Meprolight M21 reflex sight I have laying around once the rifle comes in - though it will be not optimal for precision shooting, it will look interesting and function decently enough at the shorter ranges this rifle operates at...

AND BTW, THIS IS THE RIFLE I HAVE COMING IN...

And THIS is the Hawke scope I'm looking to get in the near future.

The Hawke scope equivalent of the Diamondback you have listed would be this one:

https://us.hawkeoptics.com/vantage-s...4-mil-dot.html

Just stay away from Leapers/UTG/Swift/BSA/etc... poor optics in them.
