I’ve heard the same thing, 0W20 is more about better emissions than anything else. I know it’s usually safe to run that oil, especially on the street. But if a 5W30 or 0W30 adds a little more safety net why not? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was using 5-30 Mobil 1 however I’m switching to 0-20 per the recommendation of my engine builder. The new motor is IAG stage 3 but stayed NA

Yep. Probably about 95% of the owners of the car.

You got a closed deck block for an NA build? Are you planning on going turbo or supercharged eventually? Did your tuner actually recommend this if you're staying NA?

Oh yeah, those guys. Met some of them once in the Cosmetic Modifications forum. Strange fellas. Didn't care for 'em. No sir.

That is the other extreme that is also a minority. The majority of these cars are simple daily drivers and will never ever see a track, autoX or canyon run. It is reality and neither extreme cosmetic modders or race car wanttabes have any business looking down upon the people that just want to own a fun little coupe.

Probably staying NA. This block is rated for 550 hp and I’m at around a little over 200 WHP. Needed a new motor after losing the original during the recall fiasco. For an extra 1,500 and getting much better oiling capabilities and all the good stuff inside it will be nice to not worry about things at the track

I'm just hoping your tuner isn't just getting you to spend for no reason... A stage 1 block would've been the best pick if you don't need extreme cylinder wall strength. The difference between stage 1 and two is that instead of using their own branded rods, they switch to a brand name. Stage 3 is the same, but with a closed deck block. Not being a ****, it's your car and it'll still run fine! Just want to be sure your builder/tuner is actually discussing pros/cons with you. Not that it's actually my business I guess.. |
