Battlefield 3

Just got BF3 today. Last FPS I really got into was 2142. So far, bf3 is pretty much the same as far as strategy and gameplay are concerned. The graphics are nice, but sometimes i find them distracting. Whats up with newspapers and trash floating all over the place? And sometimes random dust clouds appear that make it really hard to see. And i agree about the tactical lights. I could see soing some blinding if they point right at you and its dark, but it shouldnt blind you in daylight or at a 45 degree angle...

I was talking about this over the weekend with a few friends... trying to decide if I should pick up Battlefield 3 or pre-order MW3. I ultimately decided on MW3 because CoD has a better following and there's always plenty of people online for casual play. If any of you end up with MW3 on PS3 we'll have to get some games going.

Just finished up a game of Rush. Got an 18 kill streak in a tank. I love the depth to this game. I do feel that helicopters got the shaft in this one, which is Okay since they were so OP in Bad Company...

Anyway, IMHO, the only shortfall of this game is the 30 FPS on console.

Helis are amazing in the hands of a great pilot and good gunner. We had a heli terrorizing our team for an entire round until I took him out with a couple of stingers. And then he just got right back up in it. I'm a much bigger fan of the jets, although the "glue air" thing when you fly outside of the area is annoying and a real easy way to make yourself a target. Jets are ridiculously underpowered versus ground forces though. Rockets don't seem to converge either, so it's a pain to take out any ground units.

Also, after seeing this video, I never go up in the air unless I'm in an engineer kit now. Gotten a handful of kills this way, including a few double/triple kills taking out helis.

Wow those missiles are ridiculously OP....
I wonder if they ever thought about how a Stinger missile costs a hell of a lot more than just an RPG lol.
