Uh, hate to tell ya, but that dog wouldn’t hunt for me if it had 300 hp and 300 lb/ft. Style does matter to me, A LOT, whether it’s a 30k car or a 60k car. I really hope a whole lot of people like the car and buy it, but no way here, and it is completely to do with the styling of the new car, which for ME, sucks. There is literally not one thing I’ve found that I like about the changes they made, but that’s ME. My 2017 PP is a blast to drive, so much so that I’ve not had any desire to up the performance of the car, and for me, it looks great doing it. That’s my goal in any vehicle. I want one that’s fun, capable, and that LOOKS GREAT. For me, the new BRZ is a never own car unless the mid-cycle refresh knocks it out of the park. Which I highly doubt. But I do hope it sells, because 2 door coupes are about extinct.

But some people obviously like it fine and that’s cool haha. Like I said, hope it sells.

But to my eyes, damn.

They are not "protecting the Supra" they are making the car they started out which was a low power NA not a turbo supercar.

How is beating the MX5 "clearly" a goal?

Who says they don't sell well? Are there piles around unsold? They sold all they made every year so they met plan. That is selling just fine. Let's not mix planned low volumes up with poor sales since they are two radically different things.

You’re right it’s actually quite the opposite. My local Toyota dealer will typically only have one or two new 86’s in stock at a time. My local Subie dealer usually has just a few BRZ’s also. Maybe that is up to each dealer. The twins have hopefully met sales expectations, and a redesigned 2nd gen means they feel it will continue to sell.

LOL I highly doubt they would have moved forward if they thought it wouldn't sell. Doesn't mean it will of course but their studies certainly said it would.
The next trick will be finding enough 17 to 25 year olds that will buy it new.

I love the new digital tach in track mode. Its kinda has retro vibe just using a modern screen.

Maybe it will look better in person, with a more top-down perspective rather than low shots everyone seems to want to take. I am hoping it does, because I like how the specifications turned out.

Like, I would be ok with it if they could show me legit wind tunnel and cfd data proving they chose function over form, but the form is just a bit disjointed as it is now. Hell, I might be ok with it anyway if it is a blast to drive.

The first time I saw a Supra it matte grey

The first time I saw a Supra in white

The first time I saw a Supra in black

I need to see this car live in a bunch of colours before passing judgement but, so far, I like what I see.

I'm not sure comparing a brand new car with full factory warranty to a used car with aftermarket FI is really apples to apples.

You've also not had the new engine in your car at the track.

It didn't used to be enforced because there were no fines attached. They changed the law, so now you can get fined $200 for it.

Not a big Supra fan in any color. UNTIL I saw one in that recent, limited edition blue (not sure the name of the hue). Amazing the difference a color can make but in that blue, that sumbitch was badass and I’d drive it in a heartbeat. I ain’t gonna buy it because it costs more than my BRZ and my 2002, 26,000 original mile S2000 PUT TOGETHER, and it’s not twice the car of either damn one. But it’s tough in blue.

Nice to now know that they've retained both under hood sounds at idle.

Engine sounds like a thrashing machine.

Crickets still loud and clear.
