I know in the grand scheme of things the $250 axleback isn't all that much money, but its just the fact that at this point in the game they are changing rules on components like that, because some squeaky wheels got their way. Yes, its probably more civil than a straight pipe for DD, yes it meets all the rules, and yes I'm just going to keep it because the hassle of selling it to some kid on Facebook isnt worth it to me.

Sure seemed like at the on-set of this, they were trying to possibly evolve the exhaust rules for solo so we dont have straight pipe exhausts on Street-ish level cars. I actually was on board with the idea of "hey lets at least put a muffler on this thing" But being autoxers we ruined it

I'll buy your thing if you want to sell it. I need a fart can and I'm not liking my options. At least with the nameless I know what I'm getting into.

IIRC, the problem was in trying to define "muffler".

-And they announced they were going to change the wording to this over two months ago.

I think the 18lb requirement takes away the weight penalty of having a muffler and makes a raw straight pipe a PITA to ballast.

In my view, it encourages mufflers without getting into the weeds trying to define it.

I don't understand how the current rules go against the Nameless muffled track pipe? I suppose you're just implying you could have gotten something cheaper under the current rules, but the current rules still negate a straight pipe without adding a few pounds of metal on it anyways...

I need to practice my drama, because I already ran a straight pipe under DS, then got a Nameless pipe for SSC, and I'm not upset? Because it still wouldn't be legal...

I'm just upset that I won't get to use my official SCCA SSC muffler stick to check exhaust legality under one of the older rule sets

Dude, you went and spent money based on a ruleset that was explicitly not finalized, at least it's still legal.

They don't, your second guess is correct for snox.

Probably doesn't want to be lumped together with this speshul group at Nats.

But really it's probably because the car is not going to be the greatest on asphalt.

How "in" we're you? Did you set the car up? (Will you be selling an SSC "kit" soon?)

I’m all in. Car is set up for Nexens. Not selling anything else.

First two events with the Falkens will be in the cold — March 11th & 18th. Then zMax match tour. Was going to Dixie also but then looked up the distance on Google maps. yikes
