I'm coming back! - 2018 BRZ tS on order

A few years back I traded my 2013 FRS for a Corvette Z51 and left the 86 family.

Well the idea of Corvette ownership was better than the actual experience.
It was a great car but the worry of scratches, dings, wear and tear along with the cost of ownership and never really using the car to its potential wore me down.

I traded the Corvette in for my current Toyota Tundra truck.

I missed the fun of the FRS. Its so very true its fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

When I read about the BRZ tS edition a few weeks ago I thought "this thing has everything I wanted on my FRS with the exception of a few extra ponies".

I called my local Subaru dealer and they told me they were getting 3 in and with a 1000 deposit I could secure one in black, blue, or white.

I jumped on the blue one.

Really looking forward to being back in the club!

I've always wanted a Vette. Would like to snag a C6 some day if I can. The only Vette I've driven thus far is a C7 Z06. Can you share your thoughts on how the Z51 drove?

I drove an older Corvette for a while. My biggest issue was that it was a douche magnet. People drove like idiots around it, either trying to show off their shitty fart can Hondas and Mustangs or trying to goad me into showing off. Every hillbilly wanted to race, especially the ones driving brodozers. I couldn't park anywhere without some asshole intentionally parking over the line to get close to it, thinking I would freak out about door dings.

That happens to some extent in my BRZ, but it's never been as bad as the Corvette. I ended up trading the Corvette for a light pickup, and immediately the road became a much friendlier, less stressful place.

I hear stories like this and have the complete opposite reaction. My z06 was cheaper to modify / maintain and it is truly more fun to drive a fast car slow than a slow car fast.

The BRZ seems to attract EVERY douchebag driver on the road, much worse than any car I have owned previously.

Curious, anything other than acceleration that's "more fun" about the c5/c6?
