Want to turbo my BRZ...Ideas?

Not any time soon as I just bought the BRZ a week ago. I had a fully built turbo civic before so I know a little bit about it. I was thinking to do low compression pistons with upgraded rods mainly for reliabilty. I dont want too much power. I'd be happy aroun 300-350hp 280-300tq. Would really like to piece my own turbo kit together rather then buy an expensive kit.

I know I would need to upgrade my clutch to but just worried about the parts for now. Ive seen piston compression ratios of 9.0:1 or 10.0:1. Which would you suggest? This will mainly be for street, wont be tracking it so I dont want too much turbo lag in the low end but definitley still want some power up top. Not sure what size turbo I would need.

All this is just ideas. I would like to turbo the car but this is wishful thinking cus I know its expensive. I'm in no rush so I can slowly get the parts I need if I decide to. Would like to do this with semi good quality parts but still keep a low budget. Things I would not cheap out on...turbo, exhaust piping, pistons/rods.

This isn't a civic. Throw everything you know out the window, cuz it doesn't apply here.

Make a turbo setup of your choice, run 6-7 psi with a tune, and you've already hit your goals. No injectors. no pump. No low comp pistons.

I'm coming from a GTI and I love the torque feel. I kinda want to make the BRZ feel like that but with more power.

You'll need rods at least. Stock ones will get bent to shit if you try to get the engine to have that kind of curve.

Listen to Mike. The man knows his stuff.

Just buy or piece together you're desired kit (I'd recommend the JDL kit based on their reputation and value), get a good tune, and you're done with you're power goals. It's as simple as that.

Well if its thats easy then I'll be able to do this sooner than I thought. Shit if I can save all that money, why not?

How much can these stock motors hold up with a good tune? The high compression with a turbo worries me. I would want to lean towards 350hp more than 300hp.
