Shitty day has been shitty. Hopefully our little Miko will be back up and running for the cruise.

Damn... I can't sleep knowing Miko is hurting. Pictures don't look as bad as I imagined.
Not quite a "That will buff out" type thing though.

Hope, you two aren't too banged up, and that you'll be able to make the cruise.

Pics definitely don't look bad - just don't look under the car. The bumper bracket is all bent and there is definitely some damage up front - awkward noises from steering column, odd damage in the hinge on passenger door, etc. No airbags deployed, probably a very good thing.

Kind of banged up and definitely going to be feeling it in the morning/next few days. Hopefully we will be able to make the cruise!

On the bright side, the rims and tires appear to be fine.

Yup. The officer didn't even get out of his car. Just looked over the median and said "Looks like less than a grand."

Thoughts are with you guys. Glad you weren't hurt. Hope the damage isn't too bad to Miko.

Picture doesn't look too bad (point-and-shoot with IR-converted camera) but gas tank is dented, she feels squirrely on curves and trunk won't open.

Going to dealer on Monday - bourbon and top gear tonight.
That's horrible news! Glad to hear your ok though, I hope it all works out well for you guys.

Any word on how she is doing yet?

So far about $3k on visible damage, potentially more once the bumper is off. We're stuck with a chevy cruze. I had rented a fiat 500 last week; the guy at the rental office was quite confused to see us again so quickly!

They are supposed to give you a similar vehicle, but they'll do that to you anyways. Plus there aren't really similar vehicles. But a Mustang would be fine, and they usually have lots of those.

I had a GTP a few cars ago and it was rear-ended while sitting at a red light. They told me a PT Cruiser was all they had. I called them a day later and they "upgraded me" to a Hyundai Acc-id-ent. Ended up with a well-driven base Altima after that, until the GTP was repaired...

Always terrible seeing a nice car banged up but when it's one from here its especially horrible. Hopefully Miko is all fixed up soon.

I was thinking we should have another meet this coming week before the meet and cruise next weekend. Good opportunity to sort out some details for next weekend if we want to drive to JRP together. Also we should plan for beer and wings this time.

So there I sat in my frs, for an hour & a half on the 401 this morning... engine off... thinking to myself... it could be worse! Thank goodness I took an alternate route this morning that slowed me down a minute or perhaps it could have been me getting driven over by a garbage truck! That wouldn't have been pretty.
Hope no one was seriously hurt, it was quite the mess.

Nobody rents sports cars anymore - believe me, we tried. No go for convertibles either. Definitely can't wait until we can get our car back - we're not even sure if we will be getting her back in time for the cruise.

I definitely agree. No laughing when we show up in a beige american sedan. I'd like to suggest Monday morning at Moose plaza again, as hopefully most people will have the day off - thoughts?
