I couldn't take it any longer, so I called the Southeast Toyota HQ number posted in a different thread.

I was able to get confirmation from them that the "First 86" units are in port, and the dealers will be allocated the VINs on Wednesday of next week. She could not give me a VIN because it had not been assigned yet.

That would match up with what I was told by my dealer we would get it the second week in May. She also verified the next shipment would be allocated for delivery around June 1.

WOOT!

SoA is just a really big fan of surprises. We'll probably get a call from our dealers and they'll tell us, "yeah, your car gets here in a week, be ready!"

It's frustrating. This is the first car I've ever ordered on my own. The lack of info is what gets me. When the new Camaros came out GM was giving everyone order codes, every code told you what step the car production was in. You started with a VIN and then you get a 1000, 2000, 3000, etc. code that at least gives you something to look forward to. Oh well, lol.
