Game changer for those that use gopro cameras

I hate that newer Gopros no longer have a wired trigger. I have my Gopro attached to my rollbar and can't reach it when belted in. I'm also not a fan of recording a bunch of useless video, eating up battery and memory.

I stumbled across this free solution. I tried it and it works. The only downside, as far as I can tell, is the qr code has to be scanned each time the gopro loses power (aka, battery is replaced).

Until I pony up for an Smartycam, this will help.

If you use RaceChrono it will auto power it on and off at the start of recording

I have used and really like the Race Chrono app, but my track record of getting the OBD plug, GPS nugget and gopro all connected and working every time was not great.

I thought this could be useful to people that use a gopro stand alone.

strange I have never had any issues. my race box mini, GoPro and odb plug works perfectly every time. even tap into can bus for faster and more data
