NPA: APEXi N1 Damper ExV - 269AT090 - 86Insider.com

86Insider.com New Product Announcement:

86Insider.com is proud to introduce its new adjustable N1 EXV Damper Suspension (269AT090) for the wildly popular Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ & Toyota GT86

Pulling out all the stops to ensure a comfortable ride in addition to the added performance and improved stance, A'PEXi’s N1 EXV Dampers are fully adjustable and come standard with spring seats to minimize noise. A mono-tube shock absorber utilizes a 44mm diameter piston with a 32-way ride adjustment.

“With the extensive testing and tuning done by our engineers, we’ve come up with the right formula in our 32-way adjustable damper system. Give you new Scion FR-S or Subaru BRZ an upgrade to enjoy an excellent ride quality and sports driving.”

The N1 ExV Damper is the newest edition to APEXi high performance street line of coilover suspension. The Expert Type V (ExV) is a full coilover suspension featuring a threaded base for precise ride height adjustment without compromising shock or spring travel. APEXi engineers have taken street suspension to the next level for 2013 by including high performance upper mounts and 32 way ride quality adjustment for street cars that are used at the track as well. The spring rates and internal valving of the ExV has been completely refined for excellent ride quality and sports driving.

The ExV was designed to cater exclusively to US market vehicles. With this in mind, internal components have been specifically engineered to withstand harsher road conditions and increased wear caused by everyday street driving. The Expert Type V was developed based upon user requests for a high performance damper that doesn't carry a typical racing suspension price tag. This system stands as our commitment in providing our customers with the ultimate in quality and affordability.

APEXI USA is Located in Huntington Beach, CA and can rebuild them there, or any reputable shop can purchase rebuild kits and do them in house.

The MSRP is $1350

What makes these better than other "entry" level coilovers?

These are similar in quality and performance to other brands of entery level coilovers. What sets them apart is that they are built to APEXi specs, a company with 20 years of motorsports experience as well as a history of producing top quality items for street & track cars. They developed the coilover settings here so that they were better suited to US roads. These coilovers are designed for the everyday enthusiast who will do occasional track days.

So they're essentially custom-valved BCs is what you're saying.

While Apexi coil-overs do utilize some BC Suspension components (Mounts), there are more differences that set them apart.

Valving & the specific valve used, Spring rate and brand, shock piston, adjustment settings & levels, internal & external components all differ.

In only one case I would. It would be an isolated incident.
