Please let me know if you get a copy. Id like to have one as well
The Bayson R kit is definitely glossy when it comes, but I dipped it black before install. I got a chance to see the real kit a couple months back and it is extremely close to the plastidipped black version.

If I end up with the skirts on and the front/rear doesn't match, I'll grab the real versions of those too.

satin black or flat black? think you are safe. Reported that front and rear were identical to real ones.

It was Satin I think, but it came out pretty flat. Like I said, I've seen my car next to one with the real things, and I'm not worried about the matching.

As for front and rear, they are pretty much the same, except the front lip obviously doesn't have the STi badge. I'm not interested in sticking a badge on my replica lip, just saying that I would buy the real front lip if the paint didn't match the sides.

Here's hoping they come quick!

So explain this. Does it mess with your mileage display? Any special modifications? Sorry if you explained it elsewhere. I tried scanning real quick and didn't see anything. Been busy. Thanks!

So mate, when you change meter the new comes unpaired.

If the job is DIY:
a) unplug battery! MANDATORY
b) remove meter cover (1 nut) and the two upon meter, remove meter unit.
c) connect the harness on back
d) repeat on reverse step.

- Now press START button once without start engine with keyless fob near antenna 's receiver (beside front USB plug).
- press Start again to go OFF.
- NOW START ENGINE, you will see unlock signal on meter becomes green.
This means that unit has been paired.

About mileage, you loose your records (tS meter starts up at 0 Kms) so the only way is to align it with SSMIII by official Subaru network. Otherwise..you gain the mileage you done. You need to set up limiter signal (i.g. my at 7.400 rpm) on meter and all warning personalization you made (i.g. seat belts warning) with TIS.

Mileage is recorded both on ECM and Meter too.

No, you can't. Japan runs in metric, therefore tS (only JDM) hasn't mpg display.

So the dealer was willing to re-align your meter with the ECM in terms of mileage?

Yes, but they need to specify in latest page of owner's maintenance book . Here in Europe is illegal modify (selling) mileage so any variation must be recorded.

I spent the entire afternoon installing the STI short shifter.

The hardest part that almost made me cry was the damn dust boot on the shifter fork, as I was struggling with it for almost an hour. It is impossible to reinstall the dust boot and retaining clip the OEM way without a pair of forceps (best 5 bucks ever spent). I also adjusted the lockout plate with a feeler gauge @ 1.0mm (Subaru recommends 1.0mm gap or 0.8mm if there is trouble getting into 1st and 2nd) and got it bang on the first time.

You won't be able to feel a difference in shift feel until driving the car, the difference compared to stock is that minimal (4mm shorter in throw). Paring it with the aluminum weighed leather STI shift knob and every gear now feels like a toggle switch, tighter less sloppy feeling. This is how it should have came stock.

I think that sometimes STI (TRD) brand parts are exciting for all but not all parts are "the best buy".
About short shifter I bought the kartboy one (very satisfied) as I tried the TRD shifter (same of STI) of a friend of mine . I feel that the differences aren't so wide.
I think that all genuine parts are a plus but not all parts are real performance parts. You need to observe a strictly non-emotional approach and care for benefits/cost ratio.
About shifter if you complete it with whiteline or powerflex gear mount bush, Mtech shift spring (or Cusco shift spring), rear shifter stay bush you will feel "another" gear.
