Wheels and tires for turbo help
I just ordered and full blown turbo kit and plan on running around 300 hp when all is said and done. I really like the TSW Nurburing wheels and was needing some help on a tire selection and width that would be grippy enough for the extra power and not break the bank. So i'm not all day everyday.

Do you want to fully hook up even In first or don't mind a bit of wheel spin, if you won't be drag racing I strongly recommend michlen pilot super sports, not the cheapest but best over all tires for some big power

I also purchased my Ptuning turbo kit and will be in the same power range and I don't wish to stay on the stockers.. I was thinking 17x8 or 17x9 wrapped in 245/40R17 all around so I'm also interested in this topic

I want them to be flush with the fender. I wont be doing many drags at the track but still want some grip out of the hole if I need it

IMO it depends on whether you will be performance driving (track days or AX), if you Are, then 18x8.5 with 245 square would probably be your best bet, giving good out of the hole traction and the best track handling.
If you are going for a street setup, then staggered definitely looks better IMO, I'm running 18x8.5 front, 18x9.5 rear, 45 offset both front and rear, with MPSS 245/35/18 front and 265/18/35 rears with coilovers and a 1.5" drop and it looks outstanding IMO and will give great street performance. I plan to use my old stock wheels with some sticky rubber if I decide to track or AX, so I wanted to lower the car and stuff as much rubber inside the fenderwells as i could for great looks. I will be getting a trubo kit in the next few months, and I believe that my wheel/tire combo will do just fine. |

TSW's don't come in a wide fitment to really put down a big tire. The widest they make in 5x100 would be 8" Wide which I'd be ok fitting a 245 on but that's maxing the tire out on the width of that wheel.
What you really need is a 9.5 on the back with a 265 to get the meatiest tire on the ground to put down the power, that will be just fine with 300HP. I've got a large selection of wheels that fits your needs checkout either of these threads to see what options we have: ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀ - ******MODBARGAINS ULTIMATE WHEEL GUIDE****** - ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀ ModBargains.com | Forgestar Wheels for your BRZ/FRS - Rotary Forged/Customize Yours!! Just have 0 camber in the rear so you get every bit of tire on the ground.
Once you start running any negative camber you only get half the rubber on the ground so doesnt matter so much how wide you go. Then again, the more weight you add the less you have to worry about your wheels breaking free anyway... |

Here's a couple more crappy pics. I'll take some more and post them. Hopefully you can see how the 265's fit on the rim, basically flush or maybe a tiny bit of tire protruding past the rim lip edge. I was told the Michelin PSS tires run big for their size, so 265's are more like 275's from other brands.
On my car the 265's are a tight fit. I had to grind down the fender tabs and they seem to now not rub except for the very biggest dips or potholes, or getting Kattywompuss when 45'ing it out or into driveway or parking lot entrances. |

I'm not quite sure how 255 all around would look.. Maybe even too much meat?? But I was thinking 245s on 17s so I guess with 18s I should be fine.. Have you guys ever worked with www.wheelfire.com

I have way more grip than the current engine can utilize. I'd think 9 or 9.5 inch wheels would bu suitable with 300hp More pics here: http://s1291.photobucket.com/user/Tr...20by%20TrogDor
