Can anybody confirm hands free works for Ca-Fi?

I just want hands free / pandora stream from phone and Nav for my headunit

Any input much appreciated

From the sound of it you can also root your phone and use it to tether the head unit via wifi and use Pandora on the head unit.

You will need to modify that dash kit to fit the mounting brackets and you will also need the Metra antenna adapter.

Thanks man but what do u need modify dash kit? whats needed?

I know i might seem a pain but I'll write a a simple D.I.Y for this if it works for those that dont have much headunit experience like MWAH

They've had 4.0 for a while but they are all dual os units with windows CE running all the radio functions.

I have a dumb question, is it possible to tether my smart phone by usb cable to the head unit? I do this at work on a desk top for internet access using Easy Tether.
I believe with my data plan on my phone I have to pay extra to make my phone a wifi hot spot.
I know there are wifi apps to do without paying, but hear cell providers can cut you off if caught using them.
Am I worrying to much? having the cell phone tethered does allow charging and most people probably would plug their cell phones in while running the apps on the head unit so why not just connect by tethering?

Thanks for your thoughts and efforts, sorry I am not so tech savvy

I don't think you can tether it via USB. I wouldn't worry about wireless tether. The carrier won't notice unless you're downloading ridiculous amounts of data.

ou will need to cut groves into the ends of the 2 side panel things as well as chop up the mounting bracket so you can mate it with the oem bracket

I`m going to be taking off everything to install the new gear needed for Torque so if you haven`t done it I will take a pic

You could try doing a P2P torrent but then you'd be hosting it yourself. Plus, i've never actually put anything up for torrenting so i don't actually know how to do it.
