Nope. If I where to get a new BMW I would go for the M3.

Wait, this page says:
http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle...cylinderpetrol

1570kg (3450lb) is with 90% full tank of gas + 75kg driver/luggage, aka its true curb weight is a tad under 1500kg or 3300lbs. Of course, this could just be optimistic..

The side profile looks exactly like an E46, which I'm kind of fond of. I don't like the engine though. If cost were not an issue, a shrunken S55 that can hit at least 7500rpm would be really great for this.

What's for sure is that car makers are upping their styling game, which is great.

No, I don't really care for BMW. I also don't want to deal with any problems that might happen down the road after the warranty is gone.

Don't quit your day job. I wouldn't want one either over my $25k FR-S either. + $6K mods and my car is a hoot, looks better, and is probably dynamically better than this M car. Look, for nearly $50k, and at it's weight, it's probably no better value or performer than any of the modern muscle cars at $35k (talking about Camaro, Mustang, 370z, Gen Coupe, etc). If I HAD to pick a BMW, an e90 M3 is lighter, cheaper, has a better engine, and is better looking than this M2. Gimmie that instead.

I'm excited for the M2 and will try and drive one once the dealers have them in stock. A 2 year old one will likely be joining my stable assuming I likey the test drive. My BRZ will be shared with the kids.

this must be your first time owning a Subaru, cause you will come across problems later.

At least it's not going to burn a hole in my wallet.

I'll take my chances with Subaru.

It's not that I don't like the M2; it's definitely a nice car. But it doesn't at all appeal to me. I don't have a desire to take it over my FR-S.

Thanks! Here's hoping I'm still on my first engine in three years.

I'm glad you took that the way you did, I think a lot of other people would have taken that the wrong way

Yeah, don't worry, I'm well aware that Subaru is not without its faults as well.

First proper BMW since the E46 M3. How about a BMW M2 CSL?
