Picked up the game Guts and Glory and I'm surprised how entertaining it is

48 Hours into GOW: Raganarok. Finished the campaign, and about 97% across the board on side quest/items completion. Great game, which I'm absolutely going to get for my PC once they port it.

It is the same thing as the last one in the sense of story continuation, slightly same combat system, but with so much more content, and more depth into the characters.

For those who are thinking about getting it, I highly recommend sticking with the Lunda Armor the whole way trough, poison damage is a game changer and can come in very handy when fighting Berserkers or even main villains.

14 hours of The Callisto Protocol.
The art work is awesome. One of the best I remember seeing. That's about all I can say positively.
The melee is clunky; the fighting animation has to finish before you can do anything else.
Speaking of animations, one often has to shimmy through tight spaces. There is a noticeable delay after the animation finishes before one can do anything else.
The weapon swap is slow.
Sometimes one can't run away from an enemy to reload.
Manual saves only save at the most recent check point.
Death scene animations can be way too long. Yeah, I know I've died, can I please continue?
There is no replay value. This isn't a bad thing in itself if the game was actually worthwhile.
Similar to the last point, I have no qualms paying full price when a game is worth it. This is not one of those games.
Some keys I like to use can't be bound.
That will do for now.

I think I'll wait for the Dead Space remake and then pic Callisto up once it's on sale

started into forza 5 today. realized during initial setup my computer is only recognizing 8gb of 16gb. ordered 4x8gb sticks to get me by a little longer.

still running ddr3(1866)! for a 13 year old computer, it's still holding up pretty well! asus sabertooth x58 motherboard.

i would've upgraded last year if everything hadn't gone so haywire...

I initially bought MW2 and was stoked for the new multiplayer and Warzone 2 map. First week was rough with all the bugs and insane lobbies, so I took a break and started playing Zero Build Mode on Fortnite, which is actually pretty fun. Never thought I would say that about Fortnite. Did take a little bit to get used to.

But now I'll find myself playing the DMZ mode on MW2, and is sort of like Tarkov or the Division. Go in, find loot, complete contracts, extract. You die, you loose everything and personal loadouts become locked for 2 hours. It can be fun and interesting when you encounter a real team, you can fight them, or use the new party chat system and get them to join you which about 3 times out of 5 they'll do that since some missions require quite a few people to complete.

I do recommend, if playing either DMZ or Warzone mode, to use Xbox party chat or Discord because of this new mechanic, since other players can hear the chat if you become close enough. It can play in you favor depending how you go about it.

With the new NFS I highly considered getting FH5 but I missed on the sale. I think it got to like $30 or so. Not paying $70 for NFS unless it is a remake of the classics or a new Shift series.

Some time ago I got the full set of Leisure Suit Larry games for free. I had only ever played 1 and 3 way back in the day.

Geez, I forgot how much of a grind they were. I managed to play through them years ago without a hint book (sold separately, and the game gives you the 800 number whenever your character dies) but didn't have the patience for it this time. Fortunately the games came with a PDF of the hint book, which I used sparingly but still used.

I remember a quote from Al Lowe (the game's creator for Sierra On-Line) saying they sold more copies of the hint books than they did the actual games.

i tried the newer nfs. it's just too arcadey for me anymore.

got nfs heat as part of a multipack, still haven't installed it.

i like forza as it's just more 'real' than nfs for me, if that makes sense.

i think it's just the physics engines each game is using.

I started to watch the clip with anticipation along with dread. Is it going to meet my hopeful expectations? It can't possibly be worse than The Colostomy Protocol.

They’ve already changed dialog a decent amount. So I think all of the little things will add up. Of course if you’ve played the game, that beginning part is near identical. So no new surprises. Still I’m hopeful for it!

I think companies should follow the CAPCOM model when it comes to remaking older games. RE2 is a prime example of a remake done right. Then 3, and now 4 being the most anticipated game of 2023. If they can get anywhere close to that, it'll be alright. I've become so wary of EA that I'm going to give it a week after release to make a decision on whether to get it or not.
