Makes me want to trade up, they are way more refined and I imagine it drives smoother as well.

Just upgrade your interior a little bit. Way cheaper than taking a hit on your old car and buying a new car, including taxes and interest. The new cars really don’t perform that much better than the older ones for 99% of drivers. It’s just more of a new car thing and everything that comes with that, I mean who does not like a new car. The cost for almost the same thing is not the best way to spend your money, but it is your money.

They do look pretty but they are much harder to keep clean and the seats don't have the give the old cloth ones did so they are not as comfortable. At least that is my findings with the Hakone.

Interesting to hear about the difference in give of the seats. Do you think there was a change made to the foam used or maybe your old ones had just worn in?

Worn in would be part of it but I think that the leather and alcantara just don't have the same give the cloth did. I settled right into the FRS when it was new but the 86 has a totally different fit. It isn't a bad thing but I did prefer the feel of the cloth.

And after 45 years you will still fuck up every now and then. Will be rare but it will happen.

Ah yeah leather and alcantara probably do have less stretch to them. I like the upscale look of the leather and alcantara seats, but I can't complain about the old cloth FRS seats. They are some of the most comfortable and supportive seats of any car I've owned.

If you turn it on. I turned it on, played with a bit and turned it off again.

Honestly, I feel like once you know your clutch enough, that "feature" will actually make things worse/more confusing. |
