WTB Coilovers

Mainly need them so I can fit 18X9.5 wheels and 255's in front. But I do track my car often and want something worthwhile for the track without breaking the bank. I'm thinking used higher end coilovers, although I'm also looking at Fortune 500's and 510's.

Thanks

Do you have a budget? And I think those tires are a bit to wide for the track

On my BRZ I was running Enkei RS05RR 18x9.5 with 265/35/18 square setup. My kWV3 with Racesang top hats is for sale now. I got rid of my BRZ a few weeks back. Let me know if you're interested.

Wide does not mean fast. Your car will also be harder to rotate mid corner with tires that wide. I would do a little reading if I were you. If you are just heading to the track for fun then don't worry about it and go enjoy your car haha!!

Edit: also for a grand your almost better off buying those cheap Tein Z or w/e they are and just throwing them out when they are done. I would stay away from BC and the likes

I don't know much about car handling but I don't think a turbo brz will have too much trouble overpowering the rears. (Assume you were talking rears)

I think it's a reasonable budget. I'm not buying new remember. I seen a guy selling kwv3 a few months ago for $900.

Okay, I didn't know you had a turbo, thats a little different as you probability want the extra surface area to accelerate.

Oh man Kw V3s at $900 is a great deal!! I hope you can find a deal like that!

Are you planning on lowering your car much ??

Hahaha! Yeah no kidding. Any lower then an inch your really have to start worrying about roll centers and all that. I look forward to seeing your car when its all done

edit: also try and match your areo and spring rates for the track unless you are just doing it for looks.

Tell me what that means!...I'm really trying to avoid putting a big wing out back. Figured if I can create enough low pressure under the car then it would help.

roll center or spring rates and areo?

With areo your car will forced closer to the ground at speeds you should know that much already, but what that means is less travel in the shocks and you will likely ride your bump stops if the spring rate is too low (not stiff enough to resist the downforce) and that is very bad for handling. It is also bad to go too stiff haha its a fine balance and all depends on what your doing with the car.

Edit: sorry I am getting this thread off topic haha!!

So more Aero needs higher spring rates...makes sense....My goal is to run as little down force as I have to since it slows your top speeds
