Hi all.

Bobby Klean, a BRZ owner, is in town on a business trip and will be around until the 26th. He mentioned that he would like to go karting at some point during his trip. Would anyone be interested in getting together and beating him down... I mean... showing him a good time at one of our local karting establishments?

due to past karting incidents and injuries I fear my go karting days are behind me... but if you guys do end up planning something I may come out to watch and join for dinner/snacks before or after! Set it up!

Sorry about my absence.. i realize it is the night before the meet and there is nothing set up. That is my fault and i apologize.. since it is such short notice i am going to cancel the meet for this week and will post about next weeks meet later this week, possibly friday. unrelated to meets...but maybe i can have some of you guys listen to this sound i have at the next meet or something. i just had my transmission replaced under warranty and now i have a strange rattle when i engage the clutch from a stop...it goes away after 2,000 rpm. they blame it on my exhaust but when i got it on the lift everything was properly fitted, maybe you can help at one of these meets who have a similar sound??

Yea I had a similar problem my shifter was rattling through the early RPMs to about 4500. The dealer looked at it and replaced my whole shifter assembly. It doesnt make the sound anymore, but when I got the car back it wouldn't downshift to second. That problem went away after a while I guess it was just breaking it in. (all under warranty)

Does the rattle happen just sitting in neutral? does it happen when the clutch pedal is depressed? does the rattle get better/worse compared to the amount the pedal is depressed?

I would hazard a guess that its your throw-out bearing or clutch fork. It could be misaligned or installed wrong. I've installed a clutch fork onto a throw out bearing incorrectly (on the wrong groove), which didn't affect its function but messed up the free play enough to cause some vibration when depressing the clutch.
