i believe a Red Green Show quote works best here:

I had a real edger in SJ very similar to this pic. It came with a Briggs and Stratton engine. When the carb fell off because the pot metal case broke, I replaced the motor with a Honda. Best edger ever after that. I left it in SJ.

probably a better idea to just get a real edger.

I bought a "real" edger at a yard sale 15 years ago for $5. Best $5 I ever spent. It does take starter fluid to get it started usually but once it does get going it makes quick work of it.

Highly recommend if you can find one cheap.

I have about 15 feet of lawn to edge. I could do it with a butter knife. If I did it at all that is.

Think I may give up on the fake tree idea. Apparently 4-5ft fake ones that aren't prelit do not exist. I went to Home Depot, Costco, and Walmart today. They're almost all sold out of even prelit ones except the massively tall 7.5-9ft ones lol. And this is all before thanksgiving. I never understood why holiday stuff starts being sold so early till now.

i forgot about that. they shifted a few years ago to almost entirely pre-lit tree's. i think there's more market in it, because it significantly increases the likely hood that one of all those connections won't work next year.

Wouldn't surprise me at all, especially considering how much these go for. I saw a few pre-lit 4ft ones online being sold for $75...

The shift to prelit trees occurred when LED lighting became reasonably priced. Before it was easier to replace an entire string that find the burnt out or twisted bulb. Now that the bulbs last so many more hours there's no real reason not to buy a prelit tree.

I could buy that for mine, but I'm far too cheap lol.

I should also mention all of my garden "edges" are just stone walls, so it's not really an edge I can get with a blade.

It is a Honda so the light should be under it.
