So I got a worrisome call. Found out my mother may have COVID. She started feeling achy, super fatigued, and coughing last night and this morning. The more concerning aspect is she's at the high risk age and has severe blockage in some arteries.

I guess? It's up to her. I don't live near my parents. So she will have to go on her own. My biggest concern is getting her to the hospital if things get worse.

So, I suggest you arrange to have her tested. Ask a relative, friend or neighbor, acquire and administer a home test or take her to a testing location. (convince her she will feel better after she has a test - no matter how it turns out) (sometimes older people feel better after going to the doctor, even if the doctor doesn't find anything wrong) Tough love and all that. |

Ahhhh yes, age 29, I remember it well (well, parts of it).
It was a hot summer night in Cabo San Lucas and me and my buddy were staying at the only hotel down there that had indoor plumbing. Yep, about 1969, or there abouts. No TV, no internet, no radio stations no phone service (except via short wave radio). We had a long day out sport fishing, had a big meal of some of the fish we caught yesterday and was sitting out on this veranda (in the building to the left in the picture). We were chugging down shooters of warm tequila from skinny shooter glasses. Nope, no ice - we weren't stupid - that stuff used to make you sick down there! After the bottle was almost gone, I went to stand up and I mentioned to Ken (my buddy) that it must be about closing time, they were dimming the lights. He said, nope, they aren't dimming the lights - I sat back down and sure enough the lights "came back on". We staggered down to our room (in the building to the right in the picture). Several times during what was left of the night, I woke up and turned on a light. Ken finally asked what the hell I was doing! I told him I was just checking to see if I could still "see". |
