Hi Folks, was there a solution? I've discovered the same rattle around 15k miles.

I might order this ring clamp and see if it works better than trying to find a slightly thicker washer. not sure how such a tiny ring clamp works is it just one piece that's stretched to fit on?
Did you try It?

In my lever, the rattle comes from the reverse spring that's inside the lever (and in fact the new one has it ouside the lever).

You'll see a split pin holding the gear lever to the rod on the gearbox. Remove it together with the thin washer and replace with a thicker steel washer and refit the pin. Problem solved.

( It's the joint right at the bottom of this pic that you're looking for.)

BTW.
I've sprayed some Liqui Moly Tacky Lube Spray in there as well for good measure.

EDIT:

Special thanks to @Freedom who noticed the loose washer.
Sorry to revive a dead thread but do you recall the inner diameter and thickness of the washer you used to stop the rattle?

Mine is rattling from the reverse thing and from its spring inside the lever.
Can anybody suggest a PERMANENT fix? I'm tired of spraying grease every month...

Do you have pictures? Were you able to fix it. I'm not sure which my 2015 FRS has. Nor am I sure how to disassemble this thing. Looks like a pin that needs to be drifted out.

No fix yet, except a lot of grease.
