Basically just waiting for approval but the financing stuff has already been finalized. I'll be parting ways with my current 2016 BRZ Sport-tech, which is automatic and will finally get to drive the car the way it was meant to be driven.

Only issue is I haven't driven a manual car in my life, so I'm kind of scared I won't be capable of driving it. I've watched a few YouTube videos on manual and honestly doesn't seem too bad. I'm mostly worried about slowing down at turns, stop & go traffic and hill starts/driving on hills.

If you guys have any tips for driving manual that'll make my life easier, or how long it took for you to get comfortable driving stick, please feel free to share
Ouch!! 31K Congrats but I would have waited for a second Gen. The used car market is nuts

The hill assist icon "flashes" on hills when it is activated. The light may be solid on some hills when the system is turned on, but unless it flashes when you clutch in to first and start to release the clutch, you will not be stopped from rolling backwards. I've been driving up hills as if I didn't have the system enabled because of this to err on side of caution

I've never noticed this. I guess it's because I'm looking at where I'm wanting to go rather than looking at the dash.

I'll have to watch for this next time I take my car out.

i only discovered this because before i'd let off the brakes and noticed rolling back even with the hill assist enabled so i looked in the manual and i believe it does mention the icon flashing when hill assist is engaged on hills and saw that my icon didn't flash. I've gotten used to not relying on it anymore but wanted to give OP heads up to not rely on this feature as it may not be 100% consistent

Well, after multiple tests I can report that my 2018 tS "Hill Assist" light does NOT flash when holding the car on an incline. Not prior to or during clutch release. If it is in your manual than they change it in later MY's. However, I suspect that you have an intermittent problem as flashing dash lights are designed to draw your attention to an item for a reason.
