Here is a quick fix you can do to elimante the noise. Use 1 bottle of this per empty tank. http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...058_0452185186 .I have used this product for a about 16 months now with no issues and I am one of a good many here that also use it. Again, poor 1 of those 2 ounce bottles into the tank while your at the pump and completely fill the tank. You can thank me later. FYI....We run 93 octane here...cannot speak for the others atm.

I'll pocket the $3.05 per tank and enjoy my car as is, thanks. Paying more than a gallon's worth of gas at this point (for a 6 oz bottle of 2-cycle) just to eliminate a "cosmetic" annoyance seems ludicrous to me. I fill up on average every 1.5 weeks, and a 35 times a year, I'd be spending over $100/year for something that is entirely unnecessary.

But hey, its your money, spend it how you want.

I'm living with the crickets, they come and they go. I haven't heard them since the weather cooled down.
I put the Shell gas in mine without the 2 stroke oil and no chirping. You may be onto something lol.

I've been using half a can of torco accelerator with each fill up and it gets rid of the crickets.

Can't find non-ethanol gas here in Austin area. All gas stations Shell, Mobil, Exxon and Chevron have 10% of ethanol here. My last fill was Shell 93 with 2oz of TCW-3 and it still chripped like crazy. I just filled up with Chevron 93 with 2oz of TCW-3 last night, hope it goes away.

I have a 2015 BRZ with 2500 miles on it. Just noticed a faint chirping for the first time going through a drive thru at Wendy's. It is possible that it has been there a little while but has been masked by the sound of my Berk muffler delete. Anyway, I noticed a lot of weird clicks and other noises since I bought the car in August. Just figured this was all normal boxer engine sweetness.

Mostly because are so "pure" in the sense that there isn't much sound deadening

Had the car into world Toyota for a new pump and new window felt for the squeaking issue after rain. Both problems cane back. I'm sure I'm not alone.
Did notice if I use an octane supplement the engine writers down significantly.

I have to admit I don't find the crickets as annoying as the whine behind the steering wheel a lot of these cars seem to have.
