Like drewbot I just have an M2010 rated helmet. You only really need SA if you'll be in a car with a roll cage.
Any motorcycle shop will do

I got mine at JRP, it was about $300 + taxes for an SA2010 (HJC AR10 II). This! I bought an SA helmet just so my options are open (including rides in caged cars), but you can get an M helmet MUCH cheaper than SA. Mostly because motorcycle shops sell a lot more M helmets than specialty shops sell SA helmets.

@wparsons @brzr
How did bone stock twins hold up in the newbie's group? I'm assuming the sessions were short enough that there brake fade and fluid boiling wasn't going on? (Maybe by the afternoon with people getting faster, it could be?) Just want to plan in advance if I need to be putting in RBF600 for the day, and also to make it back to Oakville safely the same night |

All depends on how good of a driver you are on the track. On the old DDT, I could only get a few laps in without serious pad fade on the stock pads but sticky tires.
Typically you'll get pad fade before you boil the fluid with stock brake parts. If you're running the stock tires, it won't be as bad, but if you're running stickier tires you'll want better pads/fluid to be safe. All that said, if it's your first time ever on a track you might not have any issues even with all stock brake parts.

Yeah, that's why I was asking about bone stock twins
I've never driven THIS car on a road course (mostly karts actually), only a rackety MX-5 of days past All in all, should be fun to wear out these Primacy's and OE pads |

so long as you drive within your car's lowered limits
understand that your tires and brakes won't hold out for too long and regularly pull off for everything too cool and you shouldn't have problems. when I first got the car I stayed out at MIR for 8 laps before realizing that I've probably should have pitted a lap or two before...

I sent my money yesterday and do not see my name (or anyone else's) where the confirmed names are to be posted.
Should I expect some sort of confirmation? |

Yep, the registration process is manual so it'll take a couple days.
Stock tires and brakes *should* be fine on the DDT, especially if you're running at beginner group speeds. The sessions are 15 minutes, so not too long. If you do need to pull off, either stay on the track at cool down speeds (and stay off the brakes as much as possible), or pull right off and run circles around the skidpad area to keep air moving. Pulling off and stopping with hot brakes can make things much worse.
