Simple Start Button Help

Hi,

Has anybody fitted the BRZ push button start into an FRS? Would love to know how to wire it up like S2000 style. Not looking for advanced keys, or easy go system.

Looked at many tutorials with cheap buttons from eBay. There seems to be more pins on the back of the BRZ button.

Yeah I know its a pretty useless feature, I just want the feeling of pushing a button to start the car.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I ordered this part off eBay

Not just a simple slap it in and you are done!
There are loads of threads on it here someplace.

Been searching for awhile now, little leads here and there. But no DIY saying exactly how to do it. Thought about using the S2000 button since there are lots of tutorials on how to do that. I think the S2000 button might be smaller though

Anyhow if anyone knows or can give some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Having extra pins shouldn't be an issue. You just need a simple button to complete the circuit when the button is held in. You would have to hold the button as you crank, similarly to how you need to keep the key turned to "start" until the engine is running.

Just take a multimeter, switch it to resistance and find a pair of pins on the BRZ switch that have infinite resistance with the button not pressed, and ~0 ohm resistance when the button is held in.

Thanks for the link, not looking for the Easy Go or advanced keys. Just converting the stock button to work like the S2000.

Appreciate the help tho!
