Chevy has been discounting them. Heck even on the Corvette page of the Chevy website they are advertising $6,404 discount plus another $3,000 ($9,404 total) for "owner loyalty". Not sure about lower models.

Locally prices are pretty good. Bonmin local dealer 5th largest Corvette seller in country has base 1LT around $44, Grand Sport $54. Both prices include Corvette loyalty ($3K off) which means you need to own or lease one now. As you might expect manual transmission is tougher to find,, Z51 as well.

If I were to guess, prices should come down more,, it'd be hard to buy a Grand Sport when a C8 could be had for almost the same money.

This is a good deal.....

Video aftermath of the first C8 crash on public roads near Yosemite NP. No details, only speculation about what happened, allegedly no injuries, the car was part of a Corvette convoy driven by a (now former?) GM employee.

From an automotive design standpoint, it’s doubtful it would look like this. This is just a fan rendering of a C7 with front and rear C8 clips. GM wouldn’t have reused the center section for a new generation Corvette.

If anyone is interested, this article has the "tour dates" for the C8 before it becomes generally available in December.

So... California, Texas, the NE and Iowa/Ohio/Corn fields.

I guess they know where Corvettes sell.

There are two dates in Georgia, Petite LeMans and at a dealership the following Monday (largest Corvette dealer in GA). Sadly I can't make either.

Pasco WA in Feburary.

Better hope they show up with some serious studded snow tires.

People wondered about how much the Z51 package would add to the price.

Quote:
As Chevrolet has pointed out, if you want to own a C8 that can do 194 mph, you shouldn't option the Z51 performance pack, as it includes aero equipment that increases drag at high speeds. But you do get Michelin summer tires, a rear spoiler that GM says helps make 400 pounds of downforce, added cooling hardware, a better exhaust, and an electronic limited-slip differential, all for just $5000. It's the one I'd rather have, top speed be damned.
However, if you want the "fast" Stingray then get the base.

So it's still a 5k upgrade (if I googled correctly, the C7 Z51 was also 5k?), except the base already has the dry sump...seems like a pretty bad deal lol. Guess it depends on how much of an improvement the diff is.

I had a business meeting at the GM headquarters building and was surprised they still don't have a C8 in the lobby showroom.

Received an interesting email from the Corvette Museum this AM releasing the final build stats for the 2019 C7.
