I'm pretty sold on these as a budget wheelset to track with beat up and such. hard to justify 3x the cost with any kind of reasoning, short of competitively driven purchases..

Any other wheels around that are sub 17lbs and won't require hub rings?

Without hub rings? I'd have to do more research but off top of my head I don't recall any in 5x114.3 OR 5x100.
