Question BRZ tuning, PLEASE HELP

Okay so if anyone is familiar with tuning, some help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2013 supercharged brz tuned on e85 w 34k miles. Im a noob when it comes to tuning but I’d like to get into it. The previous owner said it had a tunable ecu, but was a bit vague and couldn’t tell me the location of the ecu port. Any idea where that would be and what it would look like???? Also, I’m assuming I need a usb adaptor cable, as I am planning on running MaxxECU MTune on my laptop. As far as I know, its not possible to tune through the obd2 port, right?? so I need a usb adaptor cable specific to the port on the ecu?? Sorry if this is a bit of a loaded question, and please no hate, im aware I must sound like an idiot haha.

Why not go with the more common tuning software like EcuTek or opensource like Romraider?

Yes, you com through OBD2 port.

THERE IS AN ENTIRE TUNING SECTION ON THIS FORUM YOU COULD ALSO TRY LOOKING THERE FOR INFO

I would try to find out what tuner tuned the car, Owner or professional. If it is one of the professional tuners the ECU will be locked. You will have to revert back to stock and work form there. If it was professionally tuned I would not mess with it.

It's not hate. It's tough love. Now go read the forum and learn how much more you have to learn.

Like @Grady says, take it to whoever last tuned it. At a minimum for DIY, focus on learning how to record and interpret meaningful logs of engine performance. Don't even THINK about making changes until you've mastered that.

ECUTEK's website has a list of their tuners in the US. The tuner will have their own cable and you purchase the license from them. You do not need the "kit" with the cable unless you want to do some data logging.
