Espiís 17 AT BRZ

Hi everyone so I figured I’d document my build on here. Picked up my twin in September 2019 from Subaru. Love this thing!

Engine:
OFTv2 stage 1
Greddy Filter
Perrin Inlet Tube
Perrin Crank Pulley

Suspension:
2019 PP Sach Dampers
2018 STI Ts Springs

Misc:
32% tints all around
Hidden Uniden R3
Weir 4.8 Final Drive (Lunatics old FD) - to be installed soon

So far keeping it simple and mild for now. I’ve done the turbo/coilover/slammed/ wide everything build before on previous projects. Keeping it simple with this one. Plan to keep it NA and fun. This is my first AT car ever and surprised how much I enjoyed the paddle shifters! Lol Only downside is downshifting in really high RPM it seems (5k+). I think it forces you to avoid over driving the car and produce smoother driving. Thanks for checking out my thread and I look forward to share the progress of my BRZ.

Goals: Canyon/light track day ready, daily driver, sleeper

You may want to reconsider/think about a 4.44 or 4:56 FD, 4.88 is so aggressive. 3rd will top out at about 74, and 3 to 4 shift is so long, 4th will top at about 104mph and you stop pulling in 5th gear.. So you’ll be wishing for a little more. 4.56 was perfect for NA full bolt ons in my opinion.

I also had the same concern. All the AT drivers on here that have ran 4.8 say it’s the best mod. I’ve come across posts here from other AT owners with less aggressive final drive and they would have gone 4.8 if they could do it again. I want to see how the 4.8 feels if too aggressive then yes I'll try the 4.5

4.8 FD AT 86 (he sold me lunatics FD - as he went manual)

5.1 FD AT 86

Looking forward to 4.8 it puts us AT turtles right on par with Manual gearing. Can’t wait lol

I enjoyed the videos as I had never seen those before. Any plans for a transmission cooler?

Had a stark AT cooler. Sold it

I stay in communication with both those drivers in the vids. The second video is someone who used to work for Ace

Anyways not needed just creates another unnecessary fail point. Stock cooler is very capable this information came from both those drivers. It was one of my main concerns. If it overheats it goes into limp mode to let you drive back safely. I don't think I'd run over 3 laps at any event. Also canyons have a lot of pull offs and are used when things look/feel hot

Nothing major but hey its a small update. Got around to installing my Perrin inlet tube. Feels like the car has slight better throttle response.

Got around to finally install and flash stage 1 on OFTv2. Thing opened up power from 3K+ RPM. Can’t believe I drove without it for so long.
