"2001:A Space Odyssey" is to "Star Wars" what "War and Peace" is to "Archie and Jughead" comic books. Not saying Archie comic books aren't entertaining.. I enjoyed them... but come on...

I MAY have missed/misinterpreted something. "swars" is interslang for "star wars," no? If not.. my apologies.
One of my favorite sci-fi novels was "Boat of a Million Years," by Poul Anderson. Incredible book, thought provoking, and exciting because of its vision, not because of its reliance on conflict and action.

No you exactly didn't get it right.
"Star Wars" is a re-worked mish-mash of Louis Lamour westerns and Seven Samurai. Lucas has said as much in the past. It's all touchy-feely emotions with a wrapper of graphic effects and explosions. "This is not the 'science' you are looking for" Azimov had his hands and mind all around the really significant bits.
