I'm excited for sure, the next thing is to get the supporting mods for boost. Hopefully it will be done sometime around next spring.

This is an exciting read lol. I can relate.

Japan is awesome and well worth a visit.

One recommendation, take the car to a local auto-x before getting on the track with a turbo kit and 300 whp. Just have fun, get some ride alongs with pros, and feel the car out in a safe environment.

I've gone auto crossing before! It's a blast especially in the frs. I also want to go to an hpde event before boost happens. Just have to get out there! I've been going karting alot to supplement my downtime since it's cheaper and I would say alot more difficult to get a low lap time but maybe that's because I'm a slow driver.

Thanks for reading my story!!! You guys make awesome stuff!

So just a quick text edit. I have been grabbing parts left and right for the build so I'm very excited. My goal is to document everything I do via YouTube so stay posted for those videos.

Currently I have purchased/bartered:
1x Ohlins with Verus Front Adjustable plates (Just ordered)
1x Radium PCV Catch Can (installed with videos taken)
1x AEM 30-4900 Wideband Failsafe (On the slow boat)
1x Greddy RS Single Exit Exhaust (STILL IN THE MAIL. CURSE YOU SLOW BOAT)
1x Delicious Tuning 3 Bar Map Sensor (in the Mail)
1x ECUTek Cable with License
2x Motul 5.1 Brake fluid for the Tail of the Dragon

PARTS PARTS PARTS PARTS PARTS PARTS PARTS! -me

Boost will be delayed with my impulse buy of Ohlins, I got them for a decent price that made it worth getting. Ill hopefully have these before the end of the month for TougeFest. If you see a Red FRS with some initial D stickers, look for me! I would love to meet you all!

Great thread. I left my heart in Japan, then came back and bought a BRZ. I know the feels.

That was quite the read. I only visited Tokyo for a week but I know what you mean...felt like I was falling in love every day. Girls will come and go but the 86 life is forever

Yeah my man, I will always recommend Japan as one of the best places to go to for a vacation. I only got a glimpse to be honest, I wish I was there for a year or two but maybe some other day. I have been extremely lucky and fortunate to have traveled as much as I have for my age. And I would say do whatever you can to travel more in general to anyone who has thought about it. Traveling is truly investing in life, in ways that you wouldn't be able to otherwise. I met so many great people and it had a huge impact on my life for sure. I plan on going back at some point again and get better at speaking and reading Japanese. Ill upload all my travel photos to an album that way people who wanted to check it out can do so in a link. Seems like a lot of people dig the japan trip more than the build hahahaha

I lived in Japan for almost four years and also met my wife there. I had a great time living there. This Christmas we are visiting family out there and to introduce our baby to the rest of the family/friends.

Its been a while so just wanted to post another update. I got a bunch of goodies in and lots of pictures to share! BIG FAT UPDATE INBOUND. I met up with the Indiana 86 boys to grab a windshield banner and hang out with the guys about a month ago. They were super friendly and I cant wait for our next meet at Verus Engineering in December. Those local to Indy/Ohio are welcome to meet up with us!! I admin the Ohio 86 Facebook page so just find me through there and send me a message! I'm always happy to meet new folks.

Along with the banner install being a success, I also got my Radium PCV catch can installed and my Ohlins Coilovers! Both are fantastic quality and lovely to look at. Sadly though, my Ohlins blew since they were used when I bought them. I got about 1.5k miles in before they popped. Very very sad. I am going to have to send them in to Ohlins to have them rebuilt. They are still cheaper than new, just inconvenient. They did fantastic on the Tail of the Dragon and it was a great investment. I wasn't even trying to go fast and was keeping up with most people out there. I also got my exhaust in. After 2 months its finally here. Install was cake and took me less than an hour to do. FULL RICE MODE: ENGAGED. Here have a sound clip!

TougeFest was a success and lots of fun. Totally worth the 8 hour drive. I met a bunch of cool people and was able to have a blast in the mountains despite some of the turbulence of the day. You might have seen this GTR in the news. It got a little hot and crispy sadly. Hard to see such a cool car burn down. Or maybe you saw the 86 that flipped itself while driving on the mountain. The road is highly unforgiving and should be treated with the up most respect.

But it wasn't all bad! Here are some great moments I captured while in North Carolina. It was hard to take a bad picture with how gorgeous the scenery was. I had a great time and would totally recommend it to anyone who was considering it.

On my way back, I was lucky enough to get my car photographed by one of the local photographers! The way the sun hit my car was perfect, too bad my car was filthy and you can see the dirt on it :C

Moving forward, I am still trying to get boost. I placed an order for my gauge pod, a TRD sandwhich plate, along with some whiteline adjustabel sway bar end links. I'm not entirely sure what will be next for the car but I still need a clutch and the last bits for my custom oil cooler. Sadly I wasn't able to take advantage of all the black friday deals that JDL had on their turbo kits. I can't justify maxing out my credit cards on that. I have to be somewhat responsible after all. Until the next update, thanks for checking in!

Looks like you had a fantastic time. Shame to see that 86 on its side (and I guess the crispy R35, too).

You sure have a lot of leaves in your teeth!

EXTRA CRISPY GTR. Yeah it wasn't fun for anyone since it basically closes down the road. Not to mention the owners of both were not super happy and rightfully so. It is horrible to have happen.

Did you notice if the inside of the Greddy cannon was perforated or not?

I believe it was but I haven't explicitly looked at it in that detail. You have my curiosity, why do you ask?
