I second this. This thread has been invaluable to me to get my car set up and feeling as amazing as it does today. I've followed the majority of the suggested settings and parts outlined in this thread and on the 949 site for this chassis and the difference its made is profound. I really appreciate that y'all not only have developed what seems to be a fantastic set of suspension components, but documented and posted (for free) all the information found along the way. I can't thank y'all enough!

Any thoughts on the whiteline RCA? Did it actually make a noticeable difference or would the money be better spent elsewhere? Thanks.

Yes, the Whiteline RCAs are a key part of Blub's setup. If you're going to lower the car, you want the RCAs.

We offer them here: http://949racing.com/Whiteline-KCA435-RCA.aspx

Headed out to Chuckwalla Valley Raceway for round 11 of SoCal 86 Cup. Last thing for us to validate is the geometry of the strut flanges on the Xida shocks with integrated camber adjustment. We swapped the raceseng camber plates out for OEM upper mounts but still have -3.5° up front. For most cars, the three settings will be about -1°, -2.2° and -3.5°. With camber plates you can go all the way to -6°

Wheels are custom Forgestar CF5 18x10 +50 since we never made an 18" 6UL. 255/35/18 RS4, which were just discontinued. Looks like Hnkook is getting ready to release a successor to the RS4 maybe.
Various spacers we're playing with, fine tuning. +35 front and +40 rear in this photo with spacers I think.

Glad to see development is still well underway. I recently bought a daily and I'm doing a bunch of maintenance and repairs to my FR-S as it transitions to an event-only/weekend vehicle.
Just patiently waiting in anticipation for that email that these are ready to order

Hello all. It's been a while, but I at least want to give TL;DR version of the 86Cup weekend at Chuckwalla (11/21-22) since I haven't said much.

TL;DR: First drive on track in 10 months for me. Blub changed a bit since Jan. 2020, so to me had to relearn to drive the track and car. In spite, I set three 86Cup lap records for two different track configurations. Blub is easy to drive. 949 Racing is awesome.

Saturday 11/21 CW, on 18x10 255 RS4 (shaved):

Sunday 11/22 CCW, on 17x9 old 255 A052 (1 year, 12 cycles):

Impressive, especially for $. What's the budget on you build, now? Seems like a lot of car for the money, and NA reliable. Stage 2+ tune, with a decent set of well tuned coilovers, was money well spent for me. Nice driving. Proof you don't need big power numbers, or an expensive car, to be fast

I will let Emilio respond for more accurate numbers, so don't take my word for truth. Also, it's a long read, but there's also more info further back in this thread.

Beyond the initial cost of buying the car of Carmax, I would guess is around $7k retail value for the merchandise added, with the most of the budget being built around the 949 Racing XIDA prototype coilover system + other suspension components to optimize the car for more grip and stability at the limit of adhesion (http://949racing.com/frs--brz--gt86.aspx).

The other big bits being the gearing (trans + final gear in diff), the Delicious E85 tune, Wilwood BBK (front and rear) (http://949racing.com/328mm-Wilwood-S...te-Radial.aspx).

Thanks. Nothing fancy though. Almost boring, but it is fast.

Back of the napkin math, not including the base car itself, around 17k. That's every aftermarket or fabricated bit, tuning, FIA seats, wheels, tires. Wheels, tires, brakes alone are about 6k of that total.
