“Ugly as hell”; nope, just not my cup of tea. Too much hate on the new car for me. I’m glad it exists!
Your opinion on other opinions being opinionated is a opinionated opinion in my opinion.

I, me, myself, individually, am of the opinion the bumper vents and front fenders are as ugly as can possibly be designed on a car. I may change that opinion in person but I highly doubt it. It fact I will probably be even more disgusted. Don't give a shit if it is somebody else's cup of tea and they can object to my opinion all they want it doesn't change my point of view and I am sick and fucking tired of people saying I should not say anything. Especially when their full blown hypocrisy is exposed as they criticize others for being opinionated.

Nothing official yet. Someplace somebody measured the pic and says it isn't while others say it is. May have to wait a bit for a complete verification on that.

It seems incredible that we finally get functional vents (fake vents being a pet peeve of mine) and now some complain about the shape?

Remember: it could have come out looking like the new Supra!
Because looks are subjective...just like how your last sentence implied you don't like the look of the new Supra, while many others do.

Hell if I know what he's saying, but some clips of the indoor unveiling and some close up with the blue car.

Comparing the side view of the old model to the new model,
I find all the black plastic off-putting.

Actually like the 400Z body a great deal more. KISS.
Not going to pay more for a Renault though in any case.

From the video above, depicting how the car revs and sounds in 2nd from low revs, how does that seem to gen 1 owners?

It seems good to me, it sounds nice and revs pretty quick.

In the absence of confirmation, Occam’s razor suggests that if they stuck with a Subi platform and engine, there is no reason to think they would change the PCD. Why would they?

The look has definitely grown on me, and it seems like the performance will be good. Just not sure if it's worth 30k when you can get a well sorted supercharged gen 1 twin for <25k now. I wonder if Toyota is pulling something similar to the new supra where they want to sell the same number of units every year, and subsequently make big improvements every year.

Now wait a second, I've heard people say they don't hate the Supra's styling and heard an owner call it "okay" but I've never heard anyone say they like it. Also, "many"? Is there a corner of the car world I'm not aware of that is enthusiastic about the Supra's looks? I thought it was considered an example of bad or poorly executed styling.

I'm not an expert on the boxer 4-cyl. engine (or on anything else), but my understanding is that with DI you get carbon build-up and a fuel delivery system running at higher pressures in order to achieve an emissions standard. Okay, fine. On a 2.0 inline-4, Honda was able to use VTEC and port injection to produce an LEV powertrain that made 240 hp. I'll take the inline-4 if anyone is offering it — simpler is better.

NOTE: Not trying to start a fight with anyone. I love the FR-S/BRZ, and I'm here to learn from you guys.
That 240hp 2.0L would fail current era emission standards. Too much nox.

There are loads and loads that like to Supra styling. Just swing over to the Supra site and you can find them. Could even be a majority.
