Yesterday, all I "did" with my BRZ was just go for a drive. In a time of corrosive politics and life-threatening raging pandemic, my wife and I took a long drive on twisty back roads in southeast Massachusetts and went to a beautiful state park and took a long hike enjoying the beauty of New England in the fall.

Finally received my carbon fiber hood from Seibon today. Packaging was horrible. Box was torn and looked partially open on some corners. Tape was barely holding it together and to top it off, there was no joke footsteps on the fucking box itself. Immediately opened it up and carefully inspected it to find no visible signs of damage, scratches, or cracks luckily. Kinda disappointing, but it’s not the box that gets installed on the car so it’s whatever.

Also got new headlights and fog lights last week. Should be getting in tail lights and perhaps a catback next week. Hope some Black Friday deals pop up soon

Got new tires... replaced the Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS with the S-04 PP.

So far so good, feels a lot more progressive in turns, instead of the little on/off feel. Hope to take it to the twisties this weekend to get a better feel.

Made an oil cooler block off plate for the Cali "winter". .025" thick aluminum cut to size, wrapped in duct tape so it's black, and held on to the cooler by velcro tape. Temps are at least 20 degrees warmer on the freeway just cruising.

Shouldn't the sandwich adapter be doing this automatically?

IIRC while the sandwich plate doesn’t fully open until 185, it is still opening the entire time it reaches that temperature and dripping oil into the cooler, so in my experience if it’s cold the temperature doesn’t even make it to 185.

It only opens when it reaches the designated temp of the thermostat inside of it. Until then, it bypasses the cooler.

There’s always at least a bit of oil in the cooler even when the engine is cold, it is never fully bypassed.

Hows your wheel bearings? Haha, winter wheel setup, u ever seen a widebody on 205's? 17x7+45. Raised the ride height last week on the coils too, took off the threaded bodies and lined it with permatex antisieze. You dont have to take the coils out to adjust ride height, but I wanted to give them a thorough cleaning, wire brushed the ride height threads etc

Nice lol Doesn’t look too bad for winters. Smart taking the opportunity to remove the coils to clean and put antisieze on them before winter time.

So how do you feel about it after you got it on, and if you don’t mind me asking, what was the total cost?
I’ve been on the fence about this fir a long time. I love the front lip, and the rear spats, but the side pieces have always seemed a bit too much for me. I’d prefer a more understated look. I’ve wondered if painting the upper portion of them body color would help.
Anyway, would love to know your thoughts how they look in person on your car. Beautiful example by the way!

I think it’s that rear kick up of the side pieces I’m not crazy about. Like maybe instead of being squared off it should have continued on the angle to follow the body line out?
