Also those paint jobs are phenomenal.

Thanks, I will pass on your comments. Yes, warhammer. Those little models are expensive. Like any hobby I guess.

I know not exactly plastic modeling, but some is. Here is some of my slot cars from 20 years ago. Opening my boxes for the first time in years. All done by me.

The Chevy on the bottom is actually a model kit turned slot car. I have a few other "hard body" slot cars made from model kits. The custom chassis were fun to build.

When I was a kid the family up the street ("street" meaning all 4 houses within 3 miles of us) had the whole basement don up in a massive 1/48 track. We made dozens of custom bodies from model kits. Be hard to do now since 1/48 is pretty much a dead scale for cars.

I've been collecting 1/64 slot cars since I was a kid (AFX, etc.). The cars pictured are 1/24. There are tons of highly detailed 1/32 (scalextric), but I don't thing I've ever seen a 1/48 scale slot car.

I think the actual scale was 1/44 or something like that. The 1/48 models were close enough to work though.

Actually it looks like they were 1/43

Here is the last car I built. Class built to kill everyone. Local track had drags every week, about a $40 purse.

Got it built, even bought a drag controller, went to the next race, track closed.

People thought they were smart buying their tires and consumables on this new internet thing..... Put the track out of business.

Car has never been ran. Complete custom chassis.
