As originally listed by @gen3v8 the answer should be 120, unless something has changed about precedence in math I'm not aware of.

I always was taught that grouping for operators is

exponentiation and root extraction
multiplication and division
addition and subtraction

Therefore "230 - 220 * .5" is actually "230 - (220 * 0.5)" which equals 120.

What am I missing?

TIL that apparently snow on the roof and trunk won't help you to not get stuck in the snow. I also learned that if you have any seemingly logical thoughts about RWD in the snow, you'll be swiftly corrected and called lazy on the forums.

so confused.
is this like someone at Subaru telling customers that snow tires are bad on Subaru because of the awd? or am I just missing something...
