That's not a band-aid fix and it won't do anything to correct for bumpsteer. I suggest you re-read the article.

But two square feet of carpet in a place that most people would never notice it and will make absolutely zero difference to the driving experience or the safety of the car is enough to warrant four pages of bickering.

Sad guys.
Thats because this thread is a crucial dealbreaker thread, while that one you mentioned is just....meh, nothing important.

I have no association with Moto IQ and I have no idea how accurate they are. But this is what piqued my attention and I was surprised was never mentioned on here. It's on the second page of the article, near the top if you want to confirm the context.

I was surprised that more people weren't speculating about the effects this may or may not have. Personally, I've never driven a car that had the inner tie rod pivot in the ideal location to prevent toe change, I doubt I'll care much. I was just trying to make the point that there's bigger things to worry about in life and in this car, than the trunk lid liner.

Fair enough. But while roll-steer and bump-steer are related, they are not the same thing.

While this is getting off topic, at this point I don't think it matters.

Wouldn't the same toe changes cause steering angle changes, and thus bump steer, when the car goes over a bump. Or have I misunderstood the terminology?

Honest question, by the way. I know things can come across differently in text.

If you actually post in another thread that ISN'T called "no trunk liner" you might actually get answers from some pretty smart suspension people.

As for this thread... I had Arby's for lunch and it was delicious.

Arby's is delicious. I really wish they would build more around here. I think bump steer refers to changes in vehicle attitude caused by the bump stops. I thought the motoiq article did a pretty thorough job of explaining the suspension geometry issue so there wasn't much more to discuss about it. And I'm not seeing what it has to do with the rack and pinion?
