Got a ride in a 550hp C5 Vette...meh.

It was fast, dont get me wrong. But it seemed like it was only-accelerate-in-a-straight-line fast. Or I should say, you couldn't start putting down the power that made the car awesome until you were through the corner (we were on country back roads). He had 325 RA11s on the rear and 265s (?) on the front. It stuck well enough, but it was the first high power rwd car I've been in (prior to this 4-500 hp fwd, and awd cars were my only experience). Now with all three types under my belt I feel like 250hp in a light, balanced rwd car is the perfect hp for me.

I've debated going with a turbo kit, or a supercharge in the future, but all of the bits that made it fun to drive the C5 were all the same bits that make it fun to drive the BRZ. Granted in the C5 you can just press the gas to have that fun, where I slip the clutch in the BRZ, but the result is the same fun imo.

Also, if you think our interior is bad...

they need bilsteins, and corner fine after the right tires, and pressures. most vette owners run them with too much air pressure that the door recommends for mpg

NOTHING "meh" about them, they blow away lots of other cars performance wise
I personally dont care for vettes however, same reasons you felt meh tho!

^ True, for the price and $/hp there probably isn't much out there that can touch them.

I realized after typing out a 3 paragraph response that what someone finds fun about owning/modding/driving cars is all relative. My meh, is another persons OMGWTFBBQ.

This car has horrible seat and interior. I wouldn't buy it even if it had 1000 hp from the factory. Interior is important to me.

The C6 is better though, though I never hear good things about the seats.

The interior is pretty rough, but so was every Chevy interior from that time period.

From my own experience, the seats are fine. I drove a '01 C5 Z06 round trip from Milwaukee, WI to Charleston, SC. My back never ached, and I never felt any real discomfort due to the seats.

This. I've driven one, and I would not give it such a mediocre review.

It's all about the driver experience.

Hell, I enjoyed driving a bone stock C6 a few years back. Steering feel, who needs that when you can do burnouts on demand....

My brother used to have a C5 Z06, and I used to drive it around at the wee age of 13.

It was great! I love the feeling of having gobs of torque available under your right foot! I can see how being a passenger in a car like that can be kinda boring at some point, but honestly, driving big torquey cars is a thing in its own!
