I love the Mugello circuit. The wife and I were there in 2005 for the MotoGP. I was really looking forward to what I knew was going to be a hard fought, tooth and nail, hammer and tongs type of battle. I knew there would be passing under braking, passing on the outside of T1 and maybe even some over under moves out of T15. I was so looking forward to it...
BUT! Mother nature had other plans. A major storm came through this morning. Most of the pre show was watchable but just barely. Then, just as the cars were making their way around to take the start we lost satellite signal altogether. I was bummed because not only did I not get to watch the race but I missed all the after action reporting.
Not to worry though as our Canadian sports network was going to rebroadcast the race at 5:00 p.m. EST. I'd still miss the interviews but, I'd at least get to see all the race. Well, so I thought.
Imagine your favorite team is ahead and the other side calls a time out. The TV channel you're watching takes a 3 minute commercial break. BUT! When the game comes back on 15 minutes has passed and your team is now losing. You don't know how or why or anything because the corporate money grubbers decided that they needed to shorten the show by 15 (very important) minutes. That's what happened to me due to our TSN (The Sports Network, wow how long did it take them to think up that name) when:
First, they showed the last 45 seconds of the basketball game (that took 6 minutes to play) that was showing before the Formula 1 race was scheduled to start. Plus an additional 3-4 minutes of interviews before they started showing the F1 race.
Secondly, as those of you who watched it know, there was a huge crash on the restart at the beginning of lap 7 that brought out a red flag. TSN goes to a four minute commercial break and when they return to the race the cars have already restarted and are on lap 17 about to start lap 18. Valtetri had lost the lead to Lewis and both had changed to the medium tires.
I'm catching up on what I missed by reading the different F1 sites but I am truly bummed out. Motorsports gets the shitty end of the television coverage stick far too often. Don't these people know that; Racing Fans Lives MATTER!

Totally gutted for Logan Sargeant!
Went into the F3 finale tied for the championship, was running 5th and just needed to maintain position and would've won, but got taken out on the first lap.
Hope he can continue up the ladder, would be cool to see an American in F1 again someday...

No race this weekend, I’m in a F1 withdrawal and cannot sleep…

So I Found this:

Seb’s PR angel…

Next weekend we go north to visit the Russian Grand Prix hosted at the Sochi Autodrom.

Missed out on the race today, Just had to go for a nice fall ride with all the trees turning orange & red around here , a bonus was catching up to a red corvette on some northern laurentian back road that decided to try to loose me in the twisties.

I was expecting more dnf’s from Sochi. Car_Loss Jr is having some bad luck in the past few races hope he can turn this around with the next one. Perez as doing some great PR work showing he’s not done even if he’s out of a seat. Great for Bottas His ego needed this all while he gave a bee a ride .

Ham: he likes to complain but today I think he had reason to, just let him race that’s what they pay him for.

Good for Max & Daniel too.

Charlie: this is not Nascar.

Had to make do with this :

I've watched maybe four or five full F1 races in the past four years or so, highlights cover it pretty well and anything weird usually gets it's own video with further analysis sometimes posted to YouTube before the full highlights are up.

Zero regrets having an extra thirty+ hours to do other things per year.

Of those five races the only ones I actually remember was Kimi's last win and the wet German GP last year where like half the field crashed out. I might have also watched when Kimi was on pole at Monaco but I'm sure it was a snoozefest since Vettel had him in the first lap and Ferrari goofed the strategy for Kimi.

Too bad, they finally were getting some success with Red Bull & AlphaTauri.

Wonder who they will beg for their next Power unit? Renault? Mec are probly already over booked with other customers and well Ferrari.. ish!
Could this open the door for someone else to return to F1 to supply Power units?
