Wait what...? You're going to give the man the recommendation of running lower compression or ethanol without knowing ANYTHING else about the situation that caused the failure? You have no idea what his AFR or boost level was under WOT. You have have no idea if he was running premium fuel. You have no idea if the kit was installed correctly.

I think it's a little irresponsible to make such a drastic conclusion based on the little amount of information given, especially from a respectable shop.

Seems par for the course to me. If you want more power than a set of billet power blocks will give you, then you need a Crawford short block with new rods and pistons.

Really, if you are going to increase the power of this motor at all you need a built shortblock and lower compression as the compression from the factory is way too high even with DI being a factor.
