That's easy! Remove the Air conditioning, add an even larger radiator, add a large oil cooler, add a tranny cooler, add a rear diff cooler, add a fuel cooler. All the stuff a real race car has that makes a lot less power than this car. |

Also, was it you guys that supplied Ken Stout Racing their racing engines last season for PWC?

Iam impressed that the crank is still stock. That is reassuring since I am hoping to eventually do a rebuild for around 350 HP to the wheels.

No, CP! THANK YOU! Had I the funds, I'd come to you. Your work has given great hope for this car.

Funny your shop gets so much hate from a $14k+ "turbo kit" (that's a serious purpose-driven engine rebuild as well) but then this video comes out and everyone finally sees the awesome. Silly noobs don't know how much Crawford rocks with Subies. I'm interested to see what you guys have in store for the 86 in the future. Carry on!
BTW, what are your impressions with the drivetrain after pushing so much torque? |

To be honest, I am amazed at how well the tranny is holding up. That said I do lift of the throttle when the car catches air. Also we are using a clutch that slips a bit to take the shock off the tranny. We did break the CV joints early on but the Driveshaft Shop fixed us up! Me thinks our turbo kit is a little less than $14K... like 50% less; http://www.crawfordperformance.com/p...3-brzfrsgt-86/ |

Ah nice.. Wasn't there another kit built for lower compression with rods, pistons, and a bunch of other bits? Or is this one in the same?

Crawford,
As you are the expert, I hope you don't mind me picking your brain. Overall, how strong or weak do you feel the stock engine is when adding boost and using only 93 octane? What sort of wheel horsepower are you confident the stock engine will live well with on 93 octane(good tuning, of course)? I know you love this platform and talk highly of it, but what are some things you don't like? Are there any drawbacks or issues you feel the car could've done better with? What sort of limitations, if any, do you feel this car has? I hope you don't mind all the questions. I was quite outraged when the people here banned you a year ago. Your knowledge and great expertise was quite a loss to the community at that time. Very glad you're back and well with the community. Cheers

We only sell one turbo kit, but we also sell every other upgrade necessary to maintain the power level of our R/D car. We have broken a lot of parts so you don't have to

The only thing I do not like about the car is the torque dip. The reason for the ban was strictly financial, knowledge and expertise is not the goal here. Thanks for the kind words! |

Have to agree on the video getting me re-interested in the car. Great job with the build CP!
