Overall I don't think its worth the $50cad and like an hour lying on my back in the footwell.. also lost that small c clip while trying to put it back on, so now I gotta figure out where to find one

Debating on just putting back the old spring, but thats gonna be even harder now because the stock one is quite stiff not sure i ll be able to compress it enough with zip ties

yea I put the stock spring back in, the slop was bothering me too much! I will say it was kind of a pain the get the stock one back in! get some strong zip ties and use a clamp to compress it.

I thought the aftermarket lighter spring eliminated the slop that occurs with no spring. Damn. So he only way to have no slop is leave the stock spring alone?

The mtech spring for the old car removed the slop at the top of the pedal caused by no spring. Unless something about the geometry or the master/slave cylinder changed pretty drastically that should still be the case?

It just occured to me that the average person doesn't do any break in with their new car and Kelly Blue Book doesn't ask when selling used, so....
I'm in same boat, takes me a couple months to put 1000 on my DD, let alone this thing (though I hope to use it like a DD in the summer... assuming I get it this summer...)

I plan to go for a nice couple hour drive to get the break-in out of the way. My process is to wait until the engine is fully warmed up before goosing it, then plenty of hard (50%) acceleration and engine braking events with plenty of time in between to avoid elevating oil temps, keeping it under 4k. No idle, minimal highway cruise. There is no further bedding in of the rings happening after 150mi.

Another "feel" purchase. Not a fan of weighted shift knobs. Like to feel all the tactile feel of the shift. Duracon STi shift knob

Unfortunately, I can confirm the MTEC spring on this gen. creates some unwanted slop at the top of the pedal throw. Removing the spring entirely also induces some slop.

Sounds like the slave cylinder swap is the way to go then for the 2022s.

I really like mine. It's lighter than stock, but I'm not sure how it compares to other aftermarket ones.

Yeah same, I thought the MTEC spring stiffened the clutch up, and gave it a bit more feel.

I ran very briefly with no spring, and there was a lot of slop in the pedal at the top end, but it seemed to go away once I put the MTEC spring in. Maybe I'm just used to clutches that have some slop in them, because I don't think its that bad to use. Although the bite point is another subject....

Yes it is fairly light. Not as light as you'd think but definitely lighter than stock and doesn't insulate the the shift action as much.

What are the thoughts on that for the '22? I haven't really seen much on it unless I've missed the threads on it. Personally I'm having a hard time feeling it. I'm mostly driving by muscle memory at the moment because of that.

My mtec spring came in the other day, I was hesitant about it but now I'm thinking I'll give it a try anyway. Maybe it will help me feel the bite point better? we'll see.
