Mounting radar detector video

i got tired of the using the cig lighter plug in the center console, so i decided to use the cig lighter in the glove box instead.

Only problem with running wires in the A beam is if you get into an accident the airbag will deploy and rip your detector off the windshild and whip it into someone's face.

That's the only place to hide the wire unless you want to do a wire tap into the dome light.

You could also get the hard wire kit for the V1, (or the Escort version, etc. if you have that brand) and run it in to the driver side foot well fuse panel. This would also liberate your secondary 12v in the glove box for other duties later.

sorry, i was referencing the previous comment about the airbag deployment. you're still going to need to run it down the driver side pillar with a fuse box wiring.

Yep, not something I would be concerned with. If you pay any shop to hard wire a windshield mount detector, that is what they will do. But wiring in my opinion is not a big deal, hell I built half of the harness in my Integra.

I think the personal damage from the possible detector impact would be minor even compared to the bashing you get from the airbag.

Thanks for the video, I will likely be doing this when I get my car!

My buddy with a JDM intega say d the same thing about his super cool JDM license plate that he stuck on his dash until it went flying and sliced his forehead clear open.

I try to avoid as much pointless additional ingury as possible but to each his own.

Possibly, but a thin metal plate definitely as more damage potential than a lightweight plastic blunt object. But, point taken.

I cringe every time I see someone with their plate just sitting on their dash like that.
