Gearknob turning during quick shifting.
Hi Everyone
Not sure if I got the Friday/Monday car but has anyone else noticed their gearknob turn when the gearleaver is used aggressively? Has anyone got the TRD Knob? I expect this behaviour from my old Mini but not my new 86? My old Corolla RXI also did not have this issue... |

Just get some lock tite, mine does it too. But I'm eventually going to swap out my shifter so I don't want to make it hard to removed. But that's what I did on my old car.

Also have a loose gearknob. Doesn't bother me too much though.
^^ I agree. Some locktite should solve the problem |

I have 2x 1275E Mini Clubman's... (Clubmen?)
One is stock with low original mileage and is quite immaculate while the other is not so stock or immaculate at all but packs a 1320cc with a 60" overbore with high compression pistons. It also has the Mini GTS close ratio gearbox and an LCB exhaust with a 50mm straight though pipe. It's a real gymkhana weapon when the brakes are working. And just in case anybody asks (as they always do), neither are for sale... |

Vic can you hook me up with a good mechanic for the minis. I also have a 1275 E but the car is standing for two years now without being started etc. Need to sort out the engine, wiring and paint work. Let me know urgently. Need to sort it out this December if possible. I'll really appreciate it.

If you use the blue lok-tite it should do the job and if and when you wanted to remove the knob you would still be able to.

I screwed the knob another full 360° compared to stock. My knob is now nice and firm, quoting what she said.
